[h=1]North Korea reportedly launches rocket[/h]
DEVELOPING - North Korea launched a rocket Friday, according to South Korean media, in a politically-charged move that has sparked concerns across Asia and the rest of the world.

Besides putting South Korea and Japan on high alert what other countries will be disrupted and upgraded in their defense statuses ??

Let's hope someone in the White House is paying attention as the NKs are currently developing a missile capable of hitting the US. Not the smartest time to be cutting the US arsenal or neglecting missile defense.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is preparing to unveil a missile capable of striking mainland U.S., according to government sources in neighbouring South Korea.

The missile has been spotted by reconnaissance satellites on a government base near the North Korean capital Pyongyang.

Experts who have analysed footage of the missile say it is 130 feet long and equipped with boosters that would give it a range of 6,200 miles.

I'm starting to think that N Korea couldn't deliver a pizza without failure.

They might unveil a missile capable of hitting the US, but they need to work on building one capable of making it out of N Korean airspace in one piece.

Hold on to your wallets, taxpayers. We're about to pay blackmail money...

:lamo God they just need to stop trying so damn hard.

Maybe their fat boy leader tried to hitch a ride and it couldn't get off the ground?

They are a threat to their neighbors.

That they launched was unsurprising. The only certain thing about NK is that it will always do exactly what it says it won't do. That the launch failed is also unsurprising. If there was a county-sized "Fail Pail", it would be in the shape of NK.

More like a starving hell hole that can barley even feed their "great army"

From what I've read the army and political elite get enough to eat. It's the rest of the people that are starving. It's obvious their fat boy leader gets plenty to eat.

I thought I was going to have a good laugh today, and NK came through with flying colors. Sorry kids, a failed rocket and now a failure to extort food supplies from the West. Epic Fail. Thanks for the laugh...Junior.

The first stage fell into the sea 103 miles west of Seoul, South Korea, and the remainder of the satellite-carrying missile was deemed to have failed.

Norad said no debris fell on land and at no time was the missile or debris deemed a threat.

Officials in South Korea said the rocket broke into pieces and crashed a few minutes after take-off.

"South Korean and US intelligence understand that North Korea's missile launch failed," a spokesman for the South's defence ministry told reporters at a briefing, adding that Seoul would make an additional announcement after final confirmation.

Japan's defence minister also said that a "flying object" that fell into the ocean after a short flight.

"The flying object is believed to have flown for more than one minute and fallen into the ocean. This does not affect our country's territory at all," defence minister Naoki Tanaka told reporters.

lol they are just the worst

None of this surprises me. They stated that they will launch it even when they entered the agreement that they wouldn't. It also wasn't a big shocker to me that it made a splash in the ocean. Well to bad for that fake satellite probably shot now.

Like a US official put it ..."The incident demonstrates an "unblemished track record of failure from North Korea"

One only hopes and pray they are sharing technology with Iran! ;)

I'm hoping that they don't screw up so much, they are aiming at the heavens but it backfires and lands on us!!
They remind me of the keystone cops.

Except that succeeding in developing a nuclear bomb is hardly an "unblemished track record of failure". And they outwitted the Clinton and Bush administrations while doing it.

Heard some news blurb that NK may try and "save face" by setting off another nuclear bomb test If they do, home they manage to do it safely.
