(CBS) CONVINGTON, Ky - Sarah Jones, a former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader indicted for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a high school student when she was a teacher, pleaded not guilty to sex abuse charges on Monday. The Chicago Sun Times reports the 26-year-old Jones, the captain of the Ben-Gals cheerleading squad, pleaded not guilty in Kenton Circuit Court to first-degree sexual abuse. She also pleaded not guilty to unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.Meanwhile, Jones' mother was also indicted. Cheryl Jones faces a single charge of tampering with evidence. Cheryl Jones is the principal at Twenhofel Middle School and was placed on paid administrative leave, according to Dixie Heights Superintendent Terri Cox-Cruey.​

The reasons why teacher-student sex is psychologically damaging apply just as much to male students as they do with female students.

It is interesting that there have been so many of these cases -- attractive female teacher, male student -- over the past couple of years. It certainly shatters the stereotype.

While what you are saying has some merit (depending upon how it all happens), I find it more difficult imagining myself being damaged having had sex with an older woman like this one.

I have to believe at age 18 I would have been dancing a freakin jig after having banged that.

Teenagers are stupid. If I was 17 years old and banging a hot older woman I would probably be stupid enough to brag about it to my friends and anyone else whose nose I can rub in it.

I'd have to tell someone... even if it's the dog. But I certainly wouldn't be telling everyone.... hell no. Not until one of the reunions. :mrgreen:

See that's just it. We can all look back and pretend we would have been smart enough to stfu (oh to be 17 again and know what I know now...), but that is some serious bragging material right there.

You wouldn't know it until later, or, more accurately, you wouldn't experience the effects until later. There are quite a few things a 17 or 18 year-old would "dance a jig" about which would be damaging in the long term. People have no idea what's good for them or not at that age.

People form their conceptions of what relationships are supposed to be like during those years. One can only imagine what a teacher, any teacher, who would prey on a student would act like in that kind of a relationship. It couldn't possibly be healthy.
