Much left to be desired really among law enforcement officers.

Scotland Yard is facing a racism scandal after a black man used his mobile phone to record police officers subjecting him to a tirade of abuse in which he was told: "The problem with you is you will always be a nigger".

The recording, obtained by the Guardian, was made by the 21-year-old after he was stopped in his car, arrested and placed in a police van the day after last summer's riots.

The man, from Beckton, east London, said he was made to feel "like an animal" by police. He has also accused one officer of kneeling on his chest and strangling him.

In the recording, a police officer can be heard admitting he strangled the man because he was "a ****". Moments later, another officer – identified by investigators as PC Alex MacFarlane – subjects the man to a succession of racist insults and adds: "You'll always have black skin. Don't hide behind your colour."

Sigh. The world sucks.

I just read an article about a parent who put a listening device on her disabled child's wheelchair and caught 2 teachers calling him "disgusting" and leaving him alone for long periods of time with no instruction. What is WRONG with people?

(coach) John Wooden:
The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching.
they failed that test

There is no doubt that, unfortunately, there are a lot of messed up people in society.

These are not just "isolated incidents". There is no accountability. The police know exactly what they can get away with, and do it on a regular basis. The abuses captured on camera are a small fraction of the actual abuses that take place and go unreported (for obvious reasons). The problem is institutional; the police are a gang.

Damn. All this after we hear constantly that racism doesn't exist anymore. Just fools playing the race card.

I haven't heard that one, where'd you hear it?

As to the case in the OP. What is really more amazing, is this happened across the pond, in a society we are told has more public cameras watching everything than anywhere else.
