New Hampshire to vote on gay marriage repeal

Horse****. He held those positions while CANDIDATE Obama. Plain and simple fact is that the left are pure hypocrites on this issue...ways have been...and always will be. Is not just Obama...it's EVERY elected democrat. They simply don't bother asking...or caring.

Im sorry but he repealed DADT, he made it so same sex partners of federal employees can recieve benefits, and he isnt going to defend DOMA. Its not as much as he could be doing but its more then everyone else has done.

Just what has he done........Please be specific.

A congressional bill to repeal DADT was enacted in December 2010, specifying that the policy would remain in place until the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff certified that repeal would not harm military readiness, followed by a 60-day waiting period.[4] A July 6, 2011 ruling from a federal appeals court barred further enforcement of the U.S. military's ban on openly gay service members.[5] President Barack Obama, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, sent that certification to Congress on July 22, 2011, which set the end of DADT for September 20, 2011.[6]

And his position is as MOST republicans. And Lordy don't folk just TRIP over themselves to call them homophobes for supporting civil unions but opposing gay marriage. Hypocrites. The lot.

The difference is that most republicans try to block SSM every way possible and he does not.

Why that's still jut horse****, son. Every time the subject is discussed on this site, if people DARE to take the Obama position how quickly does the fur fly. Ask me...it's pretty pathetic the number of people that so willingly sacrifice their 'cause' in the name of political expediency. Worse that they so willingly label others

Im fine with people taking Obamas position of not supporting it but not fighting it. I will explain to them why I believe they should support it however. What I really dont like though is when people actively fight against SSM.

Hussein Obama will never approve of gay marriage..............He knows how many votes he would lose in Nov. if he does and the people for gay marriage will vote for him anyhow.

Im not voting for him...

Right...like everyone was so vocal about the Catholics, blacks, and Hispanic majorities that were 'against' it in California. Oh....wait...no...no...again...gutless spineless attacks against others but not them. And I hear you...people can disagree with you as long as they just accept it. Keep digging...you are doing great.

This should knockdown future gay marriages in this state and when the SCOTUS voids gay marriage then all those other marriages will be voided. Lets see how one of the most liberal states votes.

The New Hampshire House is expected to vote Wednesday on whether to repeal the state’s two-year-old law that legalized gay marriage.
Republicans backing the rollback bill say it would define marriage as between a man and woman, while allowing the state’s nearly 2,000 existing same-sex marriages to remain valid, The Associated Press reports. If approved, the measure would take affect in March 2013 and re-establish civil unions for same-sex couples

God, guns & Gays.

Mental midgets unite.

Its a terrible insult to black americans to say that.......The trials and tribulation gays go through is nothing compared to slavery and is a lot brought on themselves sadly by a few militant gays and a whole bunch of Libs like you

Mrs. Loving disagrees with you.

Hussein Obama will never approve of gay marriage..............He knows how many votes he would lose in Nov. if he does and the people for gay marriage will vote for him anyhow.

Who would he lose voters to on this issue? It is a guarantee that his position on SSM and gay rights in general is going to be better than any GOP candidate's from the view of those who support SSM and gay rights.

He has said over and over again thet he is against Gay Marriage..........He ran for the presidency under that belief............Is he a liar?

Let's see. He has said that he will not defend DOMA. That is way more than any Republican, especially someone like McCain would do.

In fact, I'd bet that if a repeal bill went through Congress for DOMA that Obama would not think twice about signing it. Could not say the same thing for almost any Republican that may be President in the near future that we know wants the job.

I have a flash for you.....Justice Kennedy is a Conservative and usually votes that way

Not in your life time.

Remind me again who the Conservative who voted against state laws that ban sodomy was?

Pretty sure that Kennedy is at least going to consider this issue carefully. If not, he is definitely not the Justice he has presented himself as in the past.

However, if he does, for whatever reason, vote against SSM, it won't be long til the makeup of the Court changes and eventually we will have a Court that will vote that SSM should be legal.

And your fantasy that the SCOTUS will void all same sex marriages is very unlikely to happen. I can't even think of a way that they could justify such a thing with a ruling they make. Can you show any evidence that the SCOTUS has ever done any such thing in the past?

No matter what you say I hate no one...I want gays to have the same rights I have but not marriage......You already changed the meaning of gay forever....It use to be a child can say as someone who is very happy..........You can call your unions anything you want....Why do you want to defile Holy Matrimony a name that is very special to a lot of us........Some of us have even berrn married for 46 years......Its special.....I support Civil Unions with equal rights but you and I both know it is not even about marriage.

This is so offensive it's just jarring. Yes marriage is special, it is a very special thing, and that is why I am going to get married. No matter what you say, what law is passed, I am going to get married to the person I love, where ever she may be. My, and other LGBT people wanting to get married in no way defiles marriage as an institution. Also you must remember we are fighting for the legal rights, I can get a religious marriage tomorrow, and there is nothing you can do about that. That is my right as an American. The fact that you are mixing religious, and legal marriage just shows that you know nothing about this subject. Of course that has been evident all along, it just piles on.

It looks like the attempt to rename gay marriage to civil union has failed.

NH House Kills Gay Marriage Repeal Bill - ABC News

Hey, NP... I guess you were wrong... again. What have you got to say, NOW?

I suppose that is the last we will see of NP for awhile.

He seems to resurface every few weeks and create a thread to make predictions about whatever challenge to gay rights is occurring that day and then disappear again for a few weeks when he is proven wrong.

The people have no right to tell anyone what adult human non sibling they can marry. It is frankly none of your damn business. You don't believe in same sex marriage, don't marry someone of the same sex.

You are correct, up until the point that said marriage bestows upon the individuals benefits by the government that is based upon a foundation of citizens having input in what it does. At said point, it absolutely DOES become everyones right to tell another adult human who they can marry to gain government benefits as long as said restriction is within the boundries of the law.

I dont know why people cant just be more like Clinton and Obama when it comes to gay marriage...
Obama on Gay Marriage: "I Struggle With This" - YouTube

"Wrestling with it" of course means I oppose it, but if it becomes politically expedient...well...I'll definitely reconsider.

Funny how he isnt labelled a bigot and homophobe...
I think Obama's position is more along the lines of I support it, but I need to protect my ass at least for the next six months.

But either way, not exactly respectable, I agree.

if heterosexual marriages are recognized by the government, homosexual marriages must also be recognized. equal protection under the law.
