Klansman Running for Idaho Sheriff

He said is "often" racist. Not "IS" racist. And yes I do agree with that.

Your right on the is / often.

Do you believe the reverse could be true. playing the race card is often racism? I would think if you believe complaining about playing the racecard statement is true, then the reverse has to also sometimes be true.
Rev. Sharpton and the Twanna B. case comes to mind.

Maybe I took it wrong. IMO, it is saying if someone states someone stance is playing the "race card", that person is a racist. I disagree. Stating someone is playing the race card may be justified and may not be a racist comment.

Sometimes the call of "race card" goes up anytime race is an issue. Just as many are too quick to play the race card, there are many far too sensitive cons who look for the race card to be played when it isn't. It's too the point that you're afraid to call actual racism.

A lot to wade through, amazed there was so much about it. Yes he is a racist, but more to the point he was convicted of witness intimidation.

Yes. Most definitely it happens. But because it does happen on occasion, many choose to say that any time the racism is discussed or insinuated, many will knee-jerk in defense mode regardless of the discussion by decrying that the race-card was played and try to turn the tables by saying that they are playing the race card because they are racist themselves. It turns into a massive defense shield for racism by arguing about the semantics of playing the "race-card" rather than the topic itself.
