Thirteen French officers 'captured by Syrian Army'

Thirteen French officers have been captured by Syrian forces according to the Lebanon-based Daily Star newspaper, the first mainstream media outlet to report on rumours of Western troops on the ground.

8:07AM GMT 05 Mar 2012

The French foreign ministry dismissed the report, however, telling the Daily Telegraph that not a single French soldier is on Syrian soil.

But the defence ministry was less categorical, saying it neither confirmed nor denied the claim.

From Iraq to Libya to Syria, western always played the provocateur.

French officers captured? No! Say it isn't so.

:lamo

The internet reported this news a week ago. (see the original one in another thread of McCain calls for air bombing.) The mainstream media kept it a secret and releases it today. A nine days old news. That's the free speech Americans enjoy - they let you know what they want you know and keep silence on their unfavorible news.

Go figure.....in Libya in the beginning. British SAS were captured. Now In Syria The French are captured. Seems more things stay the same even tho while some things change.....huh? Moreover these Sunni Rebels will say anything to get some sort of backing. Once again the Saud and Qatar are willing to finance and arm these rebels.

Plus hasnt the French been filing resolutions in the UN Non-Stop? Plus Clinton told the Rebels they need to make a coalition with others who want Change. That such need to be done before any Official backing can come along. In the meantime Turkey is providing a base of Operations for the Sunni Rebel Leader.

WTF? France is sending troops into Syria? Sarkozy must be smoking crack.

I thought that was Czarkosy.....myself.

Lets not forget the French have a tendency to get others involved into their affairs and whatever other Countries Affairs they stick their nose into. Once that happens you know the rest of the West. Then comes up to pitch-hit for them.

Now you know why Strass Kahn was arrested in US and was questioned in Franch in sex scandals. That's a tactic to tarnish him and his party which is leading over Sarcozy in coming president election. US needs Sarcozy in its Mid-east war.

Strauss-Kahn back in the news another a sex scandal. This one appears to have less wiggle room than the last.

This is the best thread to get all your French surrender jokes out.

Want to buy a rifle? Brand new, never fired, only dropped once.

I hope they were wearing their brown pants while in battle...

Western officials fear that Iranian military presence along with Russian aid could turn Syria into a center of international friction much worse than the struggle inside Syria. They fear that the control over actions in Syria will be taken over by a Russian-Iranian "partnership" which would exclude the European Union and Turkey and that U.S. involvement could be too late and inefficient.

Turkey fears this development after a diplomatic crisis erupted with Syria when more than 40 Turkish intelligence officers were captured by the Syrian army. Over the past week, Turkey has been conducting intensive negotiations with Syria in order to secure their freedom, and Syria insists that their release will be conditioned on the extradition of Syrian officers and soldiers that defected and are currently in Turkey.

Oy. This could draw Turkey into the conflict much more than they ever wanted to be.

The socialist party is going to win anyways without him. Strass is still a sick man.

This isn't anything new as there is already a lot of information that the West is aiding the Syrian rebels (Intellectual Musings - Evidence that the West is arming the Syrian rebels) as well as Al Jazeera's bias in reporting on Syria (Intellectual Musings - Al Jazeera-Biased Coverage On Syria). In addition to this, the Syrian rebels have committed war crimes, yet these have largely been ignored by the MSM. I was under the impression that it was well known that attrocities were being committed by all involved. Hmm.

Inquiry: Has anyone started a thread with Clinton's last bit on validating that the US has all this time been assisting the Sunni Rebels inside Syria. Thus admitting that the US is involved in this civil war?

Been awhile since I have dropped in.

You also could view this news as an effort to push G.B. to support the Iran war. Royal family is part of political power in Britain.

UK queen accused of drug trafficking
Tuesday Mar 27, 2012

Britain’s financial regulator has fined the British queen’s bank for money laundering failures as a French presidential candidate has said part of the queen’s fortune “comes from drug trafficking.”

This is true.....over the Weekend Rice the US Ambassador blamed Assad for not keeping to the ceasefire. Yet when there was validation that Assad had stopped the Syrian rebels kept attacking Assads troops. Clinton admitted to helping the Syrian Rebels evade capture inside Syria at her Friends of Syria meeting. Moreover she told the Free Syrian Army Rebels they needed to get all others to untie under one banner. Before any other assistance could be given.

Rice said nothing about the Sunni Rebels attacking Assads Forces and or others that are loyal to Assad. Plus Rice who likes to spew forth all about Darfur. has said nothing about the Christians that are Arabs, who have come out stating they rather support Assad as they have some sort of protection from persecution by the Sunni Arabs. Syrian Christians are the ones stating that the Sunni Arabs are the ones killing them and going after them.

Does anyone think that the Christians of Syria.....who have been around for a few hundred years or so are just making this up?

A regime change to control the world in the name of "freedom".

Quote, "What are security forces supposed to do when armed gangs of thugs are running amok torching buildings, blowing up military vehicles, decapitating people in the street, slitting throats, raping women, slicing the breasts off girls and basically doing what they were and are still doing in Libya? See the pic. The UN backed peace plan calls on ALL sides in the conflict to lay down their weapons, which does not translate into the Syrian Government unilaterally pulling out of urban areas while the terrorists supplied by the FUKUS Axis (France, UK, US and Israel) run amok.

One would like to see what the governments of these countries would do if thousands of Islamist terrorists were let on the loose perpetrating the crimes mentioned above. Why, the authorities would just stand back and do nothing of course. I don’t think so. Hell, the Occupy protesters were smashed around the head and kicked in by the US police for holding a peaceful demonstration. Imagine if they had been holding RPGs.

Are you sure the French are the only people who have this tendency?

France had officers in Syria?

That's interesting.

Sucks to be them, captured and what not.

Captured or did they surrender? The French government is still trying to sell WWII surplus rifles, never been fired and only dropped once!
