Its their holy book though something that means more to them than their own family ( rightly or wrongly). You just can't go burning it and expect a reasonable response.

I don't expect any rational response for most of these people about anything. If it was up to me, I'd have every American soldier out of there tomorrow and let them kill each other in whatever imaginable ways they can think of.

Good grief. Dead Americans beheaded and dragged through the streets? The international community shrugs and says, "oh, well." A few singed Korans! *gasp!!!* "The repurcussions will be IMMENSE worldwide!"

Nobody has even taken time to figure out how and why all those Korans were confiscated from various detention facilities over the years in the first place, which apparently was in response (if CNN news is correct) to discovering that the Korans were used to hide and transmit various communications from inside the facility. When they found such Korans, they were confiscated. Now somebody took the bags out to the trash area to be burned, and Afghans working on the base rooted through the trash to find them.

What annoys the crap out of me is the outrage of burning books that had been used by detainees to transmit forbidden communications, and the instant horror shown by governmental officials. Are you kidding me? The Taliban burn PEOPLE alive as intimidation, torture children to control their parents, and THIS is what makes Afghans... and our government... gnash their teeth in outrage.

Priorities, people. ****ing priorities.

Hell yeah! You know what else I would like to do if I had a magic wand? I would rescue their poor women and bring them all here to settle and make a life for themselves. Make their ignorant ****tard males have to screw goats and stare at each other's asses.

This is one of the most ridiculous nonevents that has occurred in recent memory. These are soldiers and things do happen. It is one thing to urinate on a dead body it is another to burn the Koran. I am just fresh out of tissues and patience for these people who want to hang every US serviceman even the slightest indiscretion. More support from the higher ups would be appreciated and stop being a candy ass military presence.

I can think of no other creature on earth with more reason to wipe their ass with the Quran than an Afghani woman.

Methinks they will follow whatever man takes them up. I can't visualize some lonesome cowboy in Montana hitching his wagon up to his mail order Afghani bride and then driving her to Mecca. If you know what I mean.

Really, these people need to gain some perspective while the book symbolizes a great deal, it still is an inanimate object. What if a soldier left it out in the rain, would there be another courts martial and dishonorable discharge. Nothing but a morale killer.
