It is a very small % of catholics who actually molest children. Justlike it would be a very small % of liberals. Or any other group.
 
Abusing authority or power with impunity are things that almost make me succumb to vengeance. Almost.

Especially when it comes to the so-called spiritually virtuous abusing children.

Lock these scum away forever and throw away the key.

If we can't use the actions of some in the OWS to attack the OWS as a whole, then, logically, we can't attack Catholicism [and all the people in it] as a whole for the actions of some in that group.

True....but again, it was condoned by the church, or ay a minimum ignored.

Thus, the Church is culpable.

There is one major difference though.

There is NO central authority in the OWS group that has actively hidden, aided, and lied about illegal activity done.

There IS a central authority in the Catholic church that has actively hidden, aided, and lied about child molesters.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

You don't demonize a whole group/religion for the actions of some.

Just try to demonize all Muslims/all of Islam for the actions of some.

If you can point to a central authority for Muslims that justifies what they do, then please do. The fact remains that they don't.

No hypocrisy, just fact. The catholic's central authority hid, aided, and lied about child molesters. The fact Catholics still follow that authority is their hypocrisy.

Catholics following their religion because the Church's leaders acted ridiculously does not make them hypocrites. Catholicism is a religion that is more than its leaders.

Did the current pope explicitly lie/aid/hide the existences of child molesters? Credible sources would be helpful.

I never said it endorsed or codoned child molestation, I said it aided, hid, and lied about child molesters in their ranks.

Child molestation goes on among Protestants and Rabbis.. it happens in Scouting and numerous other venues..

The bottom line is REPORT IT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Look at Penn State. .. The kids were sacrificed to the institution.

In case you haven't noticed, I and other liberals have been on the side of tolerance in this thread so you're generalizations are nonsensical. Moreover, while I disagree with condemning the entire Catholic Church, I understand the desire to do so since molestation is big deal. I don't think any liberal would argue that child molestation and covering it up should be tolerated.
