[R.I.P.] Whitney Houston has died

full of talent but died a mess, oh well what a waste.

I love this song:

I love the that song from the Body Guard

I'm listening to my favorite song of hers, "I Will Always Love You" right now as a tribute. It still gives me goosebumps. Incredible voice, beautiful woman, tragic life. I am personally saddened by her loss, and am heartbroken for her friends and family. :(

I'm shocked because I always assumed she would get it together. Never really thought addiction would be the end of her.
Fair enough.

Changing direction... I always liked her voice, though her style of music wasn't really my taste. She was a wonderful talent, though.

As much as I could recognize the talent in "I Will Always Love You", I will always despise that song. It just grated on me from the first time I heard her version.

That song is flawless. I listened to it as well. The lyrics are actually quite fitting.

Very sad, may she RIP. Can't say I was a fan, but she was very talented. Cocaine is a horrible drug, not saying that she overdosed, but your body is going to deteriorate when you take a drug like that for so long, she couldn't have been very healthy. Very very sad.

Finally, damn. She'd been knocking on deaths door for a while with all those damned drugs, horrible way to disintegrate. Too bad Brown can't be charged with destroying her soul too.

She might just as easily have died from heart disease in the wake of years of chronic crack cocaine abuse. Forty-eight is plenty old enough for such a habit to catch up with anyone. However, considering that this is the eve of the Grammy Awards, there is a distinct possibility that this was a suicide.

I don't recall where I read it, but I think that, statistically, black women have the lowest rate of suicide in the US.

I doubt she killed herself. I guess one could argue that she killed herself by taking drugs but doubt it was on purpose. She may not have even been using. Nobody knows right now. RIP Whitney

If she had never met Bobby Brown, she'd probably still be alive.

Or she would have just got with some other crackhead. I hope folks do not start trying to blame her death on Bobby:(

R.I.P Whitney. No judgement here, no self-righteousness on my part, just sorry to see you go.

What a waste. She had one of the great voices of all time.

RIP Whitney ... what a beautiful voice she had!

My favorite song and my tribute to her

I'll never forget the first time I saw her on TV. It was her TV debut on the Merv Griffin Show. She was wearing a white tank top. And she had an equipment malfunction. Her tit came out. Back then it was live, so they didn't cut it.

I became a fan immediately. ha ha

What a waste. She had one of the great voices of all time.

Unfortunately, she tragically lost her voice to the crackpipe. She couldn't even sing anymore.

I wonder what killed her? Most people don't just fall over at 48 without a reason....

Too easy a prediction to take any real credit if it turns out to be true, but I'd bet that drug abuse was involved. That seems to be an overwhelmingly major cause of famous people dying younger than they ought to.

My wife reminded me, earlier, about the irony that people often “dedicate” this song to someone they love, only really knowing the title, and not being aware that the song is actually about someone who is ending the relationship with the one that she “will always love”.

I guess it's better than “Saving All My Love For You”—a song that sounds beautiful to listen to, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, it's about a woman having an adulterous sexual affair with a married man, and complaining that he won't ever keep his promise to leave his wife and family to be with her.

With all respect,I don't understand what you are talking about. What has that to do with anything? What is this the Inquisition?

Lord have mercy on us all!
