Does being white make you into one class of people?
Huh? (confused)
What special right is that? Which right are gays asking for that you do not possess?
To Marry
No being white is a race of people.
You were asked...
To which you responded...
So...you don't have the right to marry? Since when?
we both have the same right. gays as to people that want more then one wife want a special right.
You live in America....learn to speak and write English...... ;-)Is that all you got. attacck the messenger......way to bring something to the table. why am I not surprised.........I will say I am and old country boy and English was never one of my better subjects
Not if they flaunt it and try to push it down peoples throats.....
If done legally I think the vote of the people should be what counts........If that was not the case, why have a republic, a democracy, if you don't like how we settle things in this country move to Cuba.
Oh and gays have the same right I do. They want a special right........give it to them and you have to give it to every other class of people.........

To Marry
Start a referendum in your state and you can vote on it.
You have a right to marry how on earth is this a "special" right?
You would also be granted the right to marry someone of the same sex, you know, so it's not a "special" right, you would have that right too. You just don't want to exercise it. Guess what? They don't want to marry someone of the opposite gender either. You would both have one right you choose to exercise and one right you choose not to exercise. Hooray equality!
Tell that to everyone else out there that thinks differently. I'm always hearing about how blacks are an "underclass". Along with browns. And how whites are considered the "priviledged class".
We are not a democracy. We are a representative republic.
This means that we elect representatives to represent us and vote for us but the laws they put in place must adhere to the Constitution. This limits our government from becoming a tyranny of the majority. It helps to prevent the majority from removing rights from minorities by popular vote.
Gays have exactly the same right I do when it comes to marriage. They can marry someone of the opposite sex. They want to change the definition of marriage and marry someone of the same sex. That is a special right.
You don't believe white is a race of people?
Does being white make you into one class of people?
Expand, not change. In either case, the laws regarding marriage in most states has a gender-based requirement. By definition, that is sex discrimination. If Bill and Sally both want to marry Bob, only Sally has the right to, and there's no basis for denying that right to Bill. I mean, no basis other than that it offends the tender sensibilities of some rednecks, but they don't have the right to not be offended, so tough luck. It's none of their business.
It's not, but that's a whole different discussion.
For the 1,000 times there is nothing in the constitution about marriage and don't give me the 14th amendment because when the originators signed it the fartherst thing from their mind was gay marriage.
You don't believe white is a race of people?
You heard none of that from me. In fact I am married to and Asian and have about 100 Asian relatives.........try again.

You do know that something can have two different classifications right? Being white is a race of people. Being white is also considered to be a "priviledged class" in this country by many people.
Didn't say that I did hear it from you. I was just showing you examples.
That argument was made against interracial marriage. Everyone had the same right to marry someone of the same race. Those darn interbreeders wanted to change the definition of marriage! This argument was rejected.
It's not a special right. They're fighting for your right to marry someone of the same sex too.
You don't have a right to define marriage. There's nothing in the constitution about that.
