I mean, that's what anyone who would use this incident to attack conservatives as a whole would so.

Redress point wasn't about the logical nature of someone who would bring up that argument. Since that point is obviously not logical.

Adpst, I get that not everyone has an affinity for animals like I do, and that's fine. Beyond just concern for the cat though, this represents a threat to the family, the implicit message being "you could be next". Also, even if the cat means nothing to you, the guy has a family with kids. What if one of his kids had found the dead cat? This wasn't just cruel to the cat, it was cruel to the people involved as well. It should be condemned by everyone.

To suggest that conservatives were going to claim that a liberal did it to make conservatives look bad, he had to start with the premise that this does make conservatives look bad.

It's a pretty ****ty thing to do for any reason, let alone politics. The fact that the four kids found it bothers me even more than what happened to the cat, though.

Redress overall point was that when bad things happen, and someone claims it was because of their conservative beliefs, most every time you'll hear a hyper-partisan conservative come in and say it was a liberal plant.

It was a reference to a few cases when liberals have been vandalized and our conservative friends here said something along the lines of "well, I am not saying they did it, but I would not be surprised if they just did it top themselves to blame conservatives".

I saw this....and cried. I did not post it because really, what is there to say? Some bitch in Arkansas tortured and killed her dog because it chewed on her bible. Not long ago, someone painted anti-gay slurs on a barn and burned it -- killing seven horses, including a foal and a pregnant mare.

ANYONE who harms an animal is the complete ****s. I wish we had much stronger sentences for these crimes.

Vandalizing property is one thing -- and I'm not saying it's okay.

Torturing and killing an animal is beyond politics and into the Really Evil section....and it doesn't matter what the evildoers' politics might be.

Well, I've examined the evidence and we can be sure it wasn't a tea-partier that did this. The first thing that pops out at me is that liberal was spelled correctly...
