Rick Perry ends White House bid and backs Newt Gingrich

Better now than later.

OOPS!!I shoulda stated in the lone star.:(

I coped this from a post I read on Fark.com

"These forces are elevating Rick Perry such that we may end up with a situation where all the energy, enthusiasm and numbers are behind him. It would not matter that the Republican establishment was behind Romney because that establishment no longer controls much. What matters is the entrepreneurial game of getting people and money. Perry seems to be doing pretty well at that."

Ya tell me why poll numbers matter again?

If Palin and Perry both endorsed the candidate I happened to support, I would at the very least seriously reevaluate my choice.

I've actually heard some people speculate that if Gingrich wins the nomination he would make Perry VP. It could be a decent strategy, since Perry could help Newt with the Evangelical vote.

I'm actually looking at the photograph and what it conveys. And why does it convey an old man of seemingly wisdom when we all know better.

I hadn't heard this, but it would be an interesting ticket.

I don't believe Perry has any interest in being VP though, I think he compared it to a "bucket of warm spit" or something like that.

Governor of Texas is a bigger job than VP in my opinion.

Adios. He is a joke.

A pro-illegal supporting a pro-amnesty for illegals candidate. Can't say that I am surprised.

One thing I can support Perry on is the college tuition thing.

Pro-illegal? Pro-amnesty?

It's called being realistic. What do you want to do... round up all the Mexicans and ship them back to Mexico?

I don't think anyone but a radical could take a position like that.

The Republicans are left with two "front runners" that are both the definition of corruption, a person who wants to make the authority of the Pope the law of the land, and a crazy old man to select from.

Things don't look good for Republicans in November.

You mean Texas Representative Ron Paul and his being the only Republican opposed to a border fence, right? But you've confused about which Texas politician that just dropped out. It wasn't the pro-illegal immigrants Texas political. It was the old lifelong career Washington DC politician from Texas who advocates an open border with Mexico, not the state politician who wanted to build a fence and put National Guard on the border.

I agree with you that Ron Paul running and as a Republican is totally nuts including his open-borders position.

pro=A proponent of an issue. Newt Openly supports amnesty and Perry opening supports free education for illegals both of which entice people to come here illegally, there they are proponents of illegal immigration and amnesty.

Why is it pro-illegals pretend that the only solution illegal immigration opponents have is a mass round up despite the fact states like Oklahoma,Arizona, and many other states have done a good job kicking illegals out of their states? Oklahoma,Arizona and other states have done a pretty great job kicking out illegals and it didn't involve mass round ups.

Only a radical would think another amnesty is somehow a viable solution to combating illegal immigration after the failure of the 1986 Reagan amnesty. Its like saying "Hey!! Adding gas to the fire the first time didn't put it out but made it worse. So lets add more gas to try to put the fire out!".

No, the first thing you do is secure the borders, and stop the flow into this country, then you can tackle those already here. But you don't fix a leak in the roof of your house by leaving the hole, and continually mopping hoping that the rain stops.

Pretty sad when the best the GOP has to offer is Mitt.

Still better than Obama, and the progressive destruction of capitalism....

Perry's cause of death was a self-inflicted brainfart in debates.

Its extremely disappointing contest for Reps so far. A bunch of people that you and I have to reluctantly consider as the lesser of two evils come November.

The GOP agenda simply won't be able to push forward and the positions that form the foundation are going to be cut at, and disintegrated, and fact-checked, and out-debated with ease by Obama

I think it is way too early to have such a defeated attitude...Obama's house of progressive cards is teetering right now...If he doesn't get some things right in a hurry, then people aren't going to put up with this too much longer.
