Finland 'finds Patriot missiles' on China-bound ship

Havent we sold patriot missles to other countries and weve certainly brought them to other countries...what im getting at where did they originate from...we dont know that yet correct ?

All of the news repeats itself.

Iran Contra affair....

Operation Fast and Furious....

Now some more secret **** that probably has some government big wigs at the very core.

Due to continual improvements since its inception, there are numerous "generations" of the Patriot missile. The US and Israel have co-developed the two newest Patriot generations and share the technology (US/Patriot - Israel/Arrow). Regardless of generation though, any transnational shipment of such an item requires a EUC.

Wait, I heard it in MBC radio that Germany signed a deal with South Korea to sell Patriot missiles.
Due to the proximity of the locations, I think it might be a mix-up.
Or not

Iran Contra affair....
Iran Contra identified arming a resistance with offensive weapons in South America. Patriot missiles are defensive, not offensive and who exactly would the U.S. be arming defensively in China against the Chinese Government? I can see maybe Taiwan, doing this covertly through Germany... but we'll have to wait and see if more information is provided.

Operation Fast and Furious....
That would mean letting 69 patriot missiles out in the open to see who is trafficking them in order to make arrests. If that's truely the purpose, such a scandal would be enough to impeach this president and possibly charge him with treason... though that might be a stretch. Given that fast and furious blew up in his face and Holders, I seriously doubt he's be stupid enough to not just double down but go 10x down and let this many Patriot missiles out into the open like this. I've been wrong before and this IS Obama's administration so I won't discount that level of moronic activity 100%.

Now some more secret **** that probably has some government big wigs at the very core.
They better start packing their bags for Federal Super-Max then...

I'd like to know how in hell 69 of our Patriot missles went missing and our government didn't know about it. Do we just pile these things in a "Lockers R Us" storage unit, and put a $15 padlock on the door? Is there any substantive, you know, inventory procedures so that our military knows what ordnance we have, how much we have, and where the **** it is?

Whose in charge of our weapons, anyway? Col. Dumb and General Dumber?

They're probably not our patriot missiles. They could have come from Germany, Poland, Spain, Greece, Netherlands, Bahrain, Egypt, Israel, Kuwait, Jordon, South Korea, Taiwan, or Saudi Arabia.

It would be interesting to find out. Let me ask - if Patriot Missiles were sold to an ally, or provided to that ally and that ally takes those missiles and sends them to a country known to hack, reverse engineer, ignore patent and laws other countries follow. Is that perfectly okay? Would you expect any ramifications or fallout from such a move?

I don't know, but I have no doubt that hi-tech weaponry of this kind is sold to allies with the understanding that they won't be re-sold on the global arms market.

I do believe that the fit would hit the shan--diplomatically--if allied governments were peddling our weapons technology to the highest bidder.

If I had to guess at where these missiles came from, I would say Egypt.

China has been pretty skilled at making pieces of US military hardware go *poof* and later having those pieces show up in China. It's happened before, a few times.

I thought this was why we paid our military the big bucks....so they can innovate new stuff faster than the rest of the world can steal it.

How do you know they're not?

That's pretty much what happens. By the time China or Russia fields a weapon system tech they swiped from us, we've already made another giant leap forward.

I think you're right. Hence the importance of the hated, "military industrial complex".

I'm working near Big Lake, nowaydays, BTW.

They might not have been ours at the time they were disguised and put on that ship, but at some point they were ours, and should have multiple serial numbers leading us back to who those missles were sold to so we can ask why they were shipping them as fireworks to one of our biggest technological rivals.

Now if they are supposed to be in US hands, my original question applies. Who the hell is in charge of our military ordnance and missle inventory? Sorry, but this kind of **** bugs me no end.

No. But if the post reads like the product of fanatical, right-wing nut jobbiness, then I call it as I see it.

Then get yourself to an opthomoligist immediately. Tell him your sight is severely impaired. He might be able to rectify the situation.

No. It's one of my many talents

I hope the rest of your talents are less mediocre and contribute more to society than your less-than-astute ability to attack fellow posters with lame insults.

Whoever is responsible probably has a fat Swiss bank account and is currently wearing dark sunglasses at an obscure beach in Belize.

I wonder just where those smuggled arms were going?

Iran, perhaps?

Good for the Fins for having stopped it.

It's highly improbable that those missiles came from an American depot. There are several layers of security redundancies protecting these kinds of weapons. You would have to get literally dozens of people to not only cooperate in perfect concert, but also keep their mouths shut to pull off a heist like this and there's no way to keep that many people in line.

My money is still on these missiles coming from Egypt. It makes more sense than any other possibility; the Muslim Brotherhood has taken over the government and there's no doubt they are willing to sell American technology to whichever one of their padnahs that wants it.

The question I have is: where are the launchers? The missiles are useless without the launchers.

Probably in another container marked "noodles", or perhaps "video games."

Check the containers labeled "Right Wing Conspiracy Theories". Should be easy to find, as they will be rather large.

69 Patriot missiles accidentally loaded on the wrong ship by mistake makes perfect sense.

German officials claim it was a sale to South Korea
