2 women share 1st kiss at US Navy ship's return

The silliness is ingrained within the community that believes that this movement is akin to anything that resembles the VJ day kiss, or let's see what else have they equated to....hmmmmm, oh yeah, the civil rights movement of the 60s....

So is that your final complaint about this, or when proven wrong are you going to move onto another new bitch like you have been doing?

I have a great comeback for that, but I save it because I know your sense of humor....

Are you only able to concentrate on one thing at a time? Can people not read news of this AND other things at the same time?

Please only speak for yourself if you can't. Others can do more. I happen to find this an important issue as well as the debt.

Lastly, noone is forcing you to read this. So you obvisouly felt it important enough to come into a thread and take the time to type a response. That's pretty funny right there.

Well aren't you easily controlled by the media. Media says "jump" and you acquiesce.

This is nice aside from the de-industrialization of America through free trade, national debt, and the destruction of culture by foreigners talk. Why would you post that? What would you prefer we talk about?

Oh well apparently the 2 lesbos kissing is far far far more important than anything else.

Yep because I can concentrate on more than one subject at a time, I'm controlled by the media

Sorry, it must suck that you can only do one thing at a time and not multi-task.

Have fun with just concentrating on one thing if that's all you can do.

Tell me what the significance is of that VJ day kiss. Why is that such a great moment in history? Those two people didn't even know each other. Sailors kiss women all the time. I'm sure they did back then too. VJ day may be important, but that kiss just happened to be photographed at the right time to make it iconic. There was no special significance in that particular kiss.

Yes, because the only thing the media has been reporting on in the last week is that kiss. Despite an incredible amount of more important news, they are concentrating on just that one kiss. No one can stop talking about it.

Did you forget that you wrote:

heh, heh...You are a real pip I tell ya. People such as myself? So you want conservatives to "die" so that you can....Work...with people that agree with you....HAHAHAHA! Yeah, no projection at all....

j-mac

There are no conservatives in this country. Just a bunch of rightwingers who are too stupid to realize that they are radicals, not conservatives

Sure, the article is here...Navy gay kiss photo echoes famous V-J Day image - Arts Post - The Washington Post

However, with the removal of DADT, this kiss is nothing special...Barred from it previously or not, the news was the repeal, not the kiss.

IOW, j-mac is wrong and the article didn't equate the two kisses. They merely noted the resemblance of the two IMAGES

From the article
The tenderness of Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta and her girlfriend of two years, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, echoes Alfred Eisenstaedt’s famous image of a sailor kissing a nurse on V-J (Victory Over Japan) Day in Times Square, 1945.

Gaeta’s and the anonymous WWII sailor’s body language and poses are strikingly similar: Each leans in, supporting their partner at the neck and lower back. The difference is in the recipient of their affection.

Ok after reading it, the article stated that it would "ICONIC" like the WW2 photo. In that regard, I think it will be. So that comparison is true I guess. It won't be iconic to you, but it will to many in the gay community and gay supporters.
