Gun Sales Increase For Christmas

You cons should know, CONS kissed Bush's a$$ enough. Moderate my a$$

LOL . . . It was a vague reference to sucking his **** . . . LOL

I guess it was REALLY vague.

Where did Bush factor into this, by the way? I'm not the one turning something like a spike in gun-sales into a Politically charged spewery.

Speaking of mods, where are they? This conversation is going downhill fast.

Considering the large Democratic makeup of my state I think people arelost when they suggest that ONLY Conservatives BUY firearms, go hunting or support the 2nd amendment and their right to defend their selves . . . just WOW at that.

It's amazing that political stereotypes are truly that deep.

No, that was done by your fellow Con J-Mac on the first post.

Don't be led astray by the bias of others - the 2nd Amendment is something that's supported across the board by citizens nationwide regarldess of political lean.

Congress shows otherwise - but for the average joe I don't think it's political based at all. One of the few issues that isn't, really.

In another thread that discussed gun-rights I was accused of being a right-violating liberal . . . LOL - that's a sign of a moderate: your views on the same issue get you slaughtered by both sides.

Oh come on...I guess conservative posters no longer have the right to post threads unless we get your approval eh? If you don't like the thread, don't post in it.

Because the president doesn't have the power to do it. DUH!

The president can urge congress and senate to write and approve of a bill he wants to sign. Maybe issue an executive order.

I posted this in another thread, then thought it would do well to discuss this as a stand alone thread....

So, here we go...This is what Obama's administration/Presidency has wrought....Insecurity high enough that people are increasing their gun purchasing in record numbers....Great success I say....

You make a huge leap, blaming Obama for this. It's one of those kind of silly leaps as if Obama is the only factor there is.

I will say this, I've lived inner city, rural and eveything inbetween. I've never needed a gun. Oh, I've borrowed one to go hunting a time or three when I was younger. But to be so fearful that you feel you need to be armed? I guess I will never understand that.

Yeah right, Obama urging Congress to take away all guns or writing an executive order? Are you insane? There's a bigger chance of Perry coming out of the closet before Obama would take away all guns with an executive order.

Your "maybe" is nothing but a conspiracy theory that ranks up there with the birthers.

That's weird. I thought Obama was going to take everyone's guns?!

He won't be in office long enough to pull that one off.

What I find ironic, is how the only industry that Obama has actually helped, is the firearms industry. :rofl

Do you lock your doors?

Can't have a War on Christmas without guns.

Let's stop fooling ourselves into believing that it can't happen.

Twelve Democratic senators have joined 45 Republicans in a fast growing movement to halt progress on an Obama-backed United Nations effort that could bring international gun control into the United States and slap America's gun owners with severe restrictions.

So who said you had to buy one? See, this is where liberalism goes off the rails. You think because your experience in life has been such that you didn't feel the need to own a firearm, you don't think anyone else should either....It isn't up to you bro.

In other news: the ATF is now accusing thousands of Americans of straw purchases over the Christmas season...

.. Let's stop pretending you read articles and how actually read them? The UN Arms Trade Treaty has absolutely zero to do with US domestic gun laws. It has to do with international arms trading. It's the difference between you having the right to own a guitar and you having the right to own a guitar made out of endangered wood taken illegally from India. In the case of this treaty, you'd have the right to purchase whatever guns your mind wants. You don't have the right to become a gun runner and sell those guns in Ethiopia. Reading past the initial shock value of the articles we post is a great idea apdst. You should try it.

No one and am not claiming anyone did. Nor have I claimed no one should and have asked for no law prohibting any legal ownership. I said I merely don't understand the thought process, or the love of guns for that matter. It is nothing more than something I don't understand. I've called for nothing to be done about it.

Yeah, I'm sure this has to do with the Obama presidency and nothing to do with, oh, say, hunting rifles being bought at lower Christmas sales prices by people who already own hunting rifles or for teenage boys (or even some girls) coming of age whose fathers think it's time they had their own hunting rifle. Or pistols being bought again at lower Christmas sales prices for self-defense because the Republican Party is reducing pay to law enforcement officers making those agencies less likely to prevent crime.

I'm sure those things have nothing to do with it at all. Instead let's blame the Kenyan Muslim Fascist Socialist Marxist Anti-Christ.

There are concerns about the weapons trade among UN members.
They're talking about it.
There is no Treaty.

It's the chicken little's constant squawking about the dems gonna take your guns that I've been hearing for the last umpteen years and ramped up since the attempt on President Reagan.

Arms Trade Treaty

The global trade in conventional weapons – from warships and battle tanks to fighter jets and machine guns – remains poorly regulated. No set of internationally agreed standards exist to ensure that arms are only transferred for appropriate use.

Many governments have voiced concern about the absence of globally agreed rules for all States to guide their decisions on arms transfers. That is why they have started negotiating an Arms Trade Treaty.

United Nations Disarmament - Towards an Arms Trade Treaty

The first committee meeting about it was in July of 2010, there are more meetings scheduled for 2012.

Coincidentally I bought a new gun yesterday - first new one in years. No, it wasn't to stockpile out of fear, it was because of good 'ol capitalism. Thanks to the crass commercialism of the season, it was ON SALE and I saved $70. YEAH!!

well if they start breaking down doors, the first people who ought to be the targets of retaliation are all the useful fools who spent years claiming that no one is trying to take guns away

Do you honestly believe the government is going to start breaking down people's doors to take their lawful weapons? Are you completely paranoid or just full of empty rhetoric?

Yes.
