Time Magazine's Person Of The Year Is THE PROTESTER

Maybe this thread should be in the bias section, seeing as how Time's PoY for the past few years is really nothing more than a skewed representation of whom the progressive left is in love with.

So the left loves (since 2000) George Bush, Rudolph Giuliani, The American Soldier, George Bush, Vladimir Putin, Ben Bernanke and the Facebook guy?

Out of the last 11, 6 have been conservative, and one was a-political. There's skewing here, but it ain't from Time.

I believe if you read the articles associated with the cover pieces the bent is clear.

Making Mark Zuckerberg POY was the last straw. I stopped taking them seriously

There are various reasons for terminating your subscription, but what precisely is wrong with this choice for person of the year? 2011 was a year of significant social change and upheaval. It seems like an entirely appropriate choice to me.

Im guessing because something about protesters really pisses people off.. They are still stuck with the sterotype of them being "spoiled rich kids asking for everything, or poor dirty hippies, or stupid uncontrollable rioters"... Either that or he just hates the message and it really pisses people off when they win an imaginary award.

When you have children throwing temper tantrums, the proper course is to ignore their acting out.

Yes, that is what we have been trying to do with Conservatives since Obama got elected. Hasn't worked, but some diapers on CONS have been changed.

Yeah, tell those Arab protesters who are speaking out against their authoritarian governments, and getting shot the **** up, that they are just "throwing temper tantrums." Wonder what kind of response you'll get.

Let's see how cocky you are in November 2012

the Arab AQ uprisings are their problem, I am speaking more of OWS and the ever increasing bunch of spoiled brats straight out of mom's basement thinking that they are entitled to my earnings.

Yep you have exactly no idea what the OWS movement is about do you....??

The person of the year is a bunch of people from around the world . . . From the Arab Spring even?

So - any and all protest is nothing but good.

Wow, they're not being picky - are they? Sometimes it can be good but sometimes it can be disasterous and futile. Everyone needs to be careful that when they support a cause or admonish a reason they KNOW what's going on and what's happening becuase of it.

Ya... screw the protesters. They should have gave it to "The Apathetic Tax-Cows".

There's no stipulation that the person of the year can't be an asshole. Just someone who significantly influenced events, who was consistently newsworthy.

Obviously, no one has any idea what that fact means.

Nevermind.
