Pepper spray: US campus police suspended

So OWS is protesting all those corrupt piece of **** democrats lining their pockets with banker, broker, and union dollars? Well...ok...but that doesnt change what the UC Davis people were protesting about...their student loans.

No, the OWS is not protesting that, because there are many spotlights on governmental corruption already (and rightfully so). The OWS is protesting the disproportionate say that the richest people in America have in making government policy. By doing this, they shed light on the true nature of some of the laws being made and who they really benefit.

Why is it reasonable to only point at those being corrupted, and completely unreasonable to point at the people doing the corrupting? I find it absolutely boggling that this has become a left/right issue. This is something that concerns all Americans, not just those with a conservative or liberal lean.

Right...they are mad that the bankers/brokers/unions bribe democrats to give them political favors...I get it. You are pissed that 7 of the top 10 richest politicians are democrats. I get it.

However the protesters at UC Davis (as well as many others in the OWS) are whining about their student loan debt and how unfair it is they have to pay it back. They ASKED for the loans to pay the UNIVERSITIES...and who do they bitch about? The banks. That were stupid enough to give them money and expect them to pay it back.

Really? In all the talk about "predatory lending" I've heard precious few actually acknowledge that the borrowers bear some of the responsibility for agreeing to loans they couldn't afford.

I don't see how. The way I see it, at least two parties signed those loans - the loaner and the loanee - and those parties need to be held responsible. I do kind of feel bad for those who didn't understand the implications of a varying-rate mortgage or refinancing, but oh well.

Well, I am because this is where your post I responded to is. BTW, I genuinely like your sig. O'reilly is such a dope.

Thanks. That specific O'Reilly meme is one of my favorites.

I do enjoy Conspiracy Keanu and Good Guy Greg as well!

Re: UC Berkley: Police use excessive force

Shouldn't we wait to see what the investigation of this incident turns out to be? I mean, the use of a snippet in time really doesn't show the picture.

j-mac

What if it was shot by James Okeefe and put up on Breitbarts site...??

Still wait and see?

Why does that interest you more than the fact that people who are far richer than you have more access to government than you will ever have?

Im a realist. I get that it happens. im all for campaign reform. hell Im all for completely revamping the election process. I believe both parties are corrupt beyond words. However the OWS script is just plain bull****. The Adbusters motivation for starting this was chaos and attacking capitalism...it had **** to do with Wall Street. They tossed that carrot out and it worked...convenient since Obama had been playing the class warfare BS. Across the country you have morons rushing to protest...they just arent really sure WHAT. maybe its the evil Jew zionist bankers...or the home loans...or the student loans...or wealth redistribution...and on and on and on. And the suppose 'message' about the influence on politicians...All I am doing is filling in the puzzle piece you NEVER do...for all the whining and bitching and crying about the banks/brokers/unions and the influence they peddle on politicians...the biggest recipients are the democrats. And aint THAT a bitch when you are voting for the people lining their pockets with that evil cash you pretend to care about.

Well it is a big plate, is it not? There are a lot of things to be angry about! You can be mad at Congress, but then again, we voted them in. You can be mad at the people who took the loans and you can be mad at the banks for making the loans - sure. But I think what a lot of people are sick of and but not quite sure how to voice their concern is their disdain for the how the corporate world handled this crisis. You have Goldman Sachs, who literally ****ed anyone and everyone they could over, and then bet on the fact that they ****ed their customers over. Then you have all these banks who took bailouts for the purpose of them continuing to lend, and instead they paid down some debt and took large golden parachutes. Meanwhile, Mom and Pop needed to $20,000 loan for a new piece of equipment to keep their business going, but that loan was impossible to get. Then, to top it all off, I think these people are pissed that nothing was done about it - anywhere. This entire crisis is just as likely to occur in the future as it was 15 years ago.

But that's just my opinion.

You don't have to echo some idiot spouting anti-Israel nonsense to be in the OWS movement. You could just be against big money in politics, ignore the rest of the crap and help strengthen the movement yourself, if that was important to you.

I think what was really sad is that the Tea Party and OWS movements were turned into conservative vs liberal issues, when in reality they were both right and involved us all equally. But instead they were turned into a game of football and most of us fell for it hook, line and sinker. Christ, people are gullible.

You have to be Helen Keller kinda blind to not see the politics involved in this. And anyone that is THAT blind is so for a reason. Working too hard pullin levers so that no one can see what is going on, even though the curtain got pulled back a long long time ago.

And two months into it...what has it accomplished? What is the end game? You are beyond full of **** if you even for a second pretend the vast majority of OWS supporters wont turn around this time next year and vote the same politicians in that are doing what they pretend to be mad about.

The one thing it has accomplished is that a LOT more Americans are aware of how gamed our system is than before this started.

The Tea Party began by tapping into some of this same anger. Then they sold themselves to the Koch Brothers and instead, we're told that the deficit is THE primary problem, instead of unemployment, stagnant wages, and massively increasing poverty.

The Tea Party voted out republicans they believe are corrupt spenders. OWS supporters elected the biggest recipient of the bribes they pretend to care about and will do so again. Its ALL a problem. One of those groups is at least invested in electing someone to do something different. Dems?4 life, baby. You know it.

There is the problem: you think one group "did something". Yeah, they elected in more conservatives. Has anything changed? You tell me. In my opinion, the OWS and the Tea Party are addressing somewhat of the same issue, they just allocate blame a bit differently and have different ideals on how to solve the problem. Also, neither group is all that organized and neither has a clear agenda - that is until a pundit or organization tries to put their own stamp on it. For instance, Fox News really put their stamp on the Tea Party, though I would guarantee many of the original protesters were not in agreement with Glenn Beck on the issues.

It's not like there are a plethora of people to vote for in each election.

The Tea Party voted in people who want to give more tax breaks to the wealthy while cutting breaks and benefits for the middle class.

They elected people like Stephen Fincher, in my neighboring district, who collects about $250,000 a year in government farm subsidies, but says he's for small government.

Once their favorite, Michelle Bachmann, collects farm subsidies, and her husband collects government money to "correct gayness".

There is nothing genuine about how Tea Party candidates turned out.

The base anger is legitimate; but they fell for a bunch of people who want to destroy working peoples' salaries in order to preserve order for the top 1% to continue collecting even more of the nation's wealth. All while they shout, "Keep government hands off my Medicare!"

No...they havent done something but they did something different. Liberals have elected the same corrupt people that they pretend to bitch about. And you will do it again. And you know it.

And liberals...well...they just keep going, and going, and going. How many dem politicians have gotten rich in office? And you keep voting for them. Oh yes...you are the 99%...

Yes, the conservatives were so noble in this past election since they voted so many new people in regardless of their leanings... oh wait, no they just elected as many republicans as possible.

Try a third party candidate. Grow a little integrity. Or...just keep electing the same people.

Is that what the Tea Party did last election? Since apparently they were so noble by electing more republicans.

The Tea Party elected more conservative republicans. They ousted republicans. Make much of a difference? Well...make up your mind...how many times do we hear about the obstruction of the Tea Party republicans? Pick a position at least for Gods sake.

Im not a republican. I didnt vote Tea Party or republican. I voted libertarian and independent candidates. You voted for the biggest takers of bribes in the country. You pretend to be upset...and you will vote for him again.

What are you talking about? Did you address one point I made? Did you address the fact that Tea Party candidates collect government money? Nope. You apparently don't care about that.

You don't care about the fact that I at least complimented the base anger that formed the Tea Party (because it's the same that forms the OWS movement - i.e. the government is for corporations not the people).

Yes, I believe the Tea Party got hijacked and screwed up. And sadly, I believe OWS will fall prey in the same fashion.

But you just want to believe you're right and everyone else is wrong.

I just wonder if you'd love law enforcement so much as you do when they're pepper-spraying OWS supporters if the same law enforcement was trying to restrict 2nd Amendment rights in the way they're restriction 1st Amendment rights.

You have no idea who I voted for (or you'd know I didn't vote at all lol). This is why you are impossible to debate with - you are filled with argumentative fallacies and preconceived notions.

The Tea Party was never hijacked, it was built from the top down. It is astro-turf.

OWS is real, grassroots organization. Democrats and union bureaucrats (SEIU most recently/notably) have tried corralling the movement but unfortunately for them one sounds like an idiot telling everyone to vote Democrat while invoking the name of OWS who directly attack democrats for their role in this heist.

Not exactly. TEA party people ran in GOP primaries because they understood what splitting the conservative vote would do. There were and are plenty of old time Republicans who just wish the TEA party went away.
