There's something to be said about the rich getting richer. But what happens when the people we're talking about are members of Congress?A story in Roll Call says the collective net worth of Congress in 2010 exceeded $2 billion, a 25% increase from a similar analysis done in 2008.
The 50 richest members of Congress accounted for 90% of that increase, Roll Call says.
Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, is now the richest member of Congress. More on him later.

Sounds about right. They make the laws and monkey with the system, it seems that they could take advantage of that. And I wouldn't put it past them. It's not like we really enforce "ethics" or anything, less they were doing something we consider sexually deviant.

Interesting that of the two mentioned in the article, both married into their money.

The sample size for congress is too small to draw any valid conclusion. However, you want to know a fun fact? Its actually legal for congress to engage in insider trading. As a result, congress consistently gets better returns than the market.
