Injured Iraq veteran is face of Occupy movement

Well sonofagun...at 42 seconds into the video...unedited...she straight up admits...yep...the crowd was pelting police with rocks and bottles. And these morons INSIST...there shoudlnt have been a response...they shouldnt have used teargas to disperse the crowd. Why...its just not FAIR! They should be able to do whatever they want!

You still dont get it. The police are the authority. You can piss...whine...stomp...cry...protest to your little hearts content. But when you reach the point the police say disprese, you disperse. OR DONT! But when you DONT and you choose to engage stop ****ing whining that you got your ass kicked.

precisely. the police here followed proper non-lethal procedures and deliberately put themselves at greater risk to protect the protestors.

if you want to take on the police, okay, but as the man said, the state does not wield the sword in vain. you should weigh the costs before you make that call - not whine that there were costs after you make the decision.

again, though, i don't know why we're surprised. "facing the consequences of your actions" isn't exactly a skill set found in high quantity int his crowd.

just so everyone is clear - I'll transcribe:

Interviewer: Did you see people throwing bottles and rocks BEFORE the police started using those tactics?
Interviewee: Um... yeah, yes, people were doing that.

What is evident is that these protesters are nothing but a bunch of spolied little ****s that dont understand choice and consequence. They bleat on about their 'rights' as if they understand them, then feel they can openly defy police and shouldnt face anything even REMOTELY resembling a consequence. Why...its not FAIR!!! They should be able to scream at the cops...throw bottles and rocks, violate the city ordinances, and orders from the city government and not only should the cops TAKE it, but they should let them win.

I have a right to break the law!!! I have the right to infringe upon the rights of others!!! I am the mostestest importantist person here, and you need to give me money!!!

I defend Oakland. Dont be a moron. There is plenty to discuss right here. THESE protesters were booted from the park and they vowed to come back and RETAKE the park from the police. Thats just plain ****ing stupid...but OK...go for it. They were told to disperse. Instead of leaving he advanced. Bad **** happens to stupid people.

I like how you evaded my point.

So a kid who owns "ihatethemarines" blog and goes by that moniker, who was administratively discharged for cocaine use (other than honorable), who has been openly hostile to the Marines, is the face of the #ows movement?

Shocking I tells ya!

The police have the right to defend themselves from thrown objects and to disperse the crowd. However, there are limits on the amount force allowed based on the threat. Firing a multitude of projectiles at people who are already running away is not proper use of force. Firing a flashbang at a seriously wounded person and those attempting help him is not proper use of force. Firing projectiles into a crowd is very likely to cause serious injuries and possible a fatality. There would have to be a far greater threat than people throwing cans and bottles toward police to justify the use of projectiles.

Every police officer I know is appalled by what the Oakland police did.

Either you are hallucinating, or you are just making it up as you go along.

To everybody: Watch the video, and note what happens at the 1:45 mark. The cannister is clearly coming from the police, and explodes right in the midst of those who were attempting to provide medical assistance to the wounded vet.
Dude..... watch from the 45 second mark.... The freaking smoking munition is flying into the police line from the area controlled by the demonstrators.

I did notice something though... the creator of this video HAS better footage... because the last portion of this is the same "clip" from another video that shows him when he falls.

They just wanted to show you the "spark" and try to make you think that "spark" was him getting hit.... I must now go dig up that other video so you can see.

The second one is obvious, Caine is ignoring that one because it is indefensible and instead focusing on the first one, that injured Scott.

Actually, no he's not he's just whining about bottle and rock throwing and about how the protestors had the gall to defend themselves against a tear gas attack.

They aren't defending themselves if they started attacking.

Why are you being dishonest repeatedly?

Who was already running away?

I REALLY need to get off my ass and find that video ... It not only shows Olsen wasn't hit in the face with round, but it shows protesters not only NOT running away, but grabbing used percussion grenades and other munitions used by police and throwing them back at the police........

And there it is.... watch closely on the right side for the guy who falls. around the :23 or :25 second mark.

Also, during that same time frame, at the :26 second mark you can see a guy in the middle of the screen throwing objects at police..... Running away my ass.

Also, you can see, again, the smoke munition coming FROM the crowd TOWARDS the police.

EDIT: The guy throwing **** is actually around the same :23 or :24 second mark

I know, right? We are hunting bear and I didnt go off chasing after your bunny rabbit. Dammit. You want to talk China, start a thread. This thread is about Oakland, a bunch of miscreants that vowed to take back the park from the evil Po-lice (who acted on the direction of the government), and then went full retard and started throwing rocks and bottles at the cops.
