Now the Muslim Brotherhood can get back to what they love and do best.

Slaughtering Christians and Jews.

Gaddafi killed as Libya's revolt claims hometown | Reuters

(Reuters) - Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered on Thursday as fighters battling to complete an eight-month-old uprising against his rule overran his hometown Sirte, Libya's interim rulers said.

An NTC fighter told the BBC he found Colonel Gaddafi hiding in a hole in Sirte, and the former leader begged him not to shoot.

What goes around comes around my friend.

Can't say I am too upset about his death.

BBC News - Libya's Col Muammar Gaddafi killed, say NTC officials

If true, can't say I'm surprised that dictators talk **** on TV (fight to the last man, die like a martyr) and then whine like little bitches when they're about to die.

very typical of these bully dictators... they kill for no reason at all, do their ugliest to their own people and others, and then when they get caught its.... "Dont kill me!!" "Dont kill me!!"

While I don't rejoice about any killing, I do think Gaddafi deserved to die for his many crimes. Now I'm going to pray that Libya can form a government that is responsive to the people instead of a dictator.

What the hell does the Muslim Brotherhood has to do with this? Why another attack on something that's irrelevant?
This calls for a celebration, not just another rant about how something's evil
When I heard the news, I turned on Fox to see what they were saying. They had long faces and seemed pained to have to report this is yet another feather in Obama's cap.

How quickly people celebrate. This guy was our ally until very recently, when he threatened the oil supply.

This isn't about democracy prevailing but us taking out one of our own for disobeying. The rebels would not stand a chance without NATO there... and why is NATO there again, exactly? Oil.

Republicans bitched at Obama when he went to war with Libya, but supported Bush when he went into Iraq.

Democrats bitched at Bush when he went into Iraq, but supported Obama when he went to war with Libya.

Some things never change. Politicians are what they are...... Hypocrites.

My view? The United States is not the world's policeman. As nice as it is to see Gaddafi and Saddam fall, our own people should have been a higher priority. Sadly they are not.

Meh, I'll believe it when I see it. The NTC doesn't have a very good track record of actually killing the people they claim to have killed. A couple pictures isn't good enough because the NTC doesn't really deserve the benefit of doubt. They should show us the body and do a DNA test to prove it's him.

Its not prudent of you to make claims without any evidence to back it up, since there are clearly many motives as to why NATO would intervene in Libya in the first place.

Regardless, do you know what the purpose of NATO is? To secure the interests and the security of the Western hemisphere states.

Where do you think you or your country would be if our leaders where not so conniving in securing our most basic economic requirements? Dont sulk too much that our politicians are spending resources to secure the long term supply of a commodity that your community would fall into complete anarchy without.

Do you really think the USA/Europe is set apart from the global community when it comes to using military might to secure national interests?

Dont be so naive. We've killed 2 birds (or one mad dog and a bird) with one stone, and we should be damn proud of it.

No ally of ours funds our enemies and blows up our people over our cities. He was a temporary convienience and he knew it. Justice has been done.

This is Al Jazeera's 'front page'. Various report available from this page say multiple government entities are confirming the body is Gaddafi. AJE - Al Jazeera English

If we helped get that bastard in charge of the Lord's Resistance Army then I think our quota for getting scumbags would be full.

Please Dan, comparing Libya with Iraq is silly and way off track. Compare the costs in blood and treasure.

This is NOT a case of the U.S. being the world's policeman.

Anyone know if he got a proper Muslim burial?

his bodyguards must be happy. can you imagine how silly they felt shouting "Gaddafi duck" all the time

Since this was carried out by Libyan rebels, it is on them if he did not. NATO (including the US which assisted this effort via air strikes) assisted the rebels, but it is my understanding that the US was not the leading country in this NATO mission and did not have any troops on the ground.

The US had troops on the ground in Libya and is the de facto leader of NATO.

Why else would we be in there? Syria is meaningless outside of the context of oil security. It's the whole reason why the west installed Gaddafi in the first place.

Regardless, do you know what the purpose of NATO is? To secure the interests and the security of the Western hemisphere states.

That's basically what I just said. Oil security is security.

Where do you think you or your country would be if our leaders where not so conniving in securing our most basic economic requirements? Dont sulk too much that our politicians are spending resources to secure the long term supply of a commodity that your community would fall into complete anarchy without.

We don't need to go to war to secure those supplies. This is about us directly controling the supplies. The west has made it a policy to not negotiate for oil, but to simply invade and take it, installing dictators along the way. I'm not sulking, but simply pointing out the hypocrisy of our foreign policy. On the surface we're about freedom and democracy but our actions say otherwise.

Gaddafi was our dictator puppet until we decided that Syria needed "freedom and democracy". Funny how that coincided with oil.

Not to mention... our government is never up front about oil security. Invasions always happen under false pre-texts. You're ok with the government lying to your face while using your tax dollars to cause civil upheaval, kill thousands of people (in the case of Iraq, it's in the hundreds of thousands), and then transfer oil profits to private interests?

Do you really think the USA/Europe is set apart from the global community when it comes to using military might to secure national interests?

Not anymore I don't. I used to believe that we stood for something greater, but I'm glad that delusion didn't last long. Our governments are no different in behavior toward foreign countries that some of the worst dictators in history. We slaughter millions to secure our luxury goods, and then the biggest insult of all is that we conceal it behind the tidy face of democracy and freedom.

Dont be so naive. We've killed 2 birds (or one mad dog and a bird) with one stone, and we should be damn proud of it.

Back off.

No ally of ours funds our enemies and blows up our people over our cities. He was a temporary convienience and he knew it. Justice has been done.

Oh he was our ally, don't kid yourself. You might want to call it a temporary convenience, but that "convenience" ruled Syria for nearly half a century, and slaughter all domestic opposition with cruel retribution.

The blood of the current war is on our hands, just as the blood of the Syria people under his rule is on our hands. As nations, the western world has worse karma than any other country on earth. It wouldn't be as much of an outrage if we weren't such damn liars about what we're doing in the world.

If we're just like every other nation and all our stated principles are a bunch of bull****, then the least we can do is own up to the fact instead of brainwashing our fellow citizens with tripe about how humanitarian we all are.

I imagine the blood thirsty are rubbing their hands in glee at this. He was a very bad person, but a human being. Well, the media will have a hay day over this...poor Obama...he'll have to wait a day or two for his loyal subjects (the media) to grant him homage again.
