LAUSD Teacher Fired for Anti-Semitic Comment on Camera

Heres my view...If your in public, a public figure or a public worker...and you make derogatory racial or Anti Semetic comments you need to be held accountable for them...
Im not a religious guy but I WISH the same applied to those that make more vicious comments about Christianity...its seems thats never a problem to anyone...and you can denigrate christians at will.....
 
You know - I think what has become a problem is that not everyone uses the term 'jew' or 'jewish' the same.

I was surprised to find out -when I was a teen - that being "jewish" wasn't necessarily a religious thing but an ethnicity (or race? - I still don't fully grasp it) as well.

Sometimes I've read things and it's perfectly clear that "jew" references are regarding religion - only. Just like "Catholic" and "Protestant" . . . and at other times it's referring to race but not always.

I think some people fail to clarify WHAT they're referring to - and a disapproval of the jewish faith might be taken as outright racism altogether when that's not necessarily how the individual feels.

It seems that people are not realizing that there are going to be crazies in every group. You had some racists at the Tea Party events and you have crack-induced f-tards at OWS. However, for both the Tea Party and OWS, these nutjobs are in the minority. Both movements have legitimate greviances.

I NEVER made excuses for her.

What I did was deny an individuals behavior is representative of the whole group.

Ya see, some people defended the Tea Party when some tried to do the same thing to them over racist idiots at THEIR protests.

We "paid it forward", and now get to do the same for OWS without risk of being labeled hypocrites.

One of the myriad benefits of not being hyper partisan.

It minimizes the risk of being hoist on ones own petard.
