Barack Obama, US president, offered more support for protesters against the global financial system after a weekend of demonstrations in cities around the world, but called on them not to “demonise” those who worked on Wall Street.
On Sunday, Mr Obama honoured Martin Luther King at a dedication to a new memorial on National Mall in Washington. Referring to protests that have spread from Wall Street to London, Rome and elsewhere, Mr Obama said: “Dr King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonising those who work there.” Mr Obama had previously said the protests “express the frustration” of ordinary Americans with the financial sector.
Challenge the excess of Wall Street? Is that what we've come too? Is this "Progress"? Where success is to be seen as evil? Instead of lauding success and trying to replicate it, we're now watching a sitting US President agreeing that the best way to move forward is to equal out all wealth and income?
This is "Progress"? Count me out, count me against this insanity. I don't care if a banker has 4 houses, three yachts and an Island home. ROCK ON MAN, more power to you. I don't have claim to one penny of your wealth, I only have aspirations of similar success.
How pathetic it is, to think fellow Americans believe they have some claim on another persons wealth, property or success.
