SPIN METER: Obama's disconnect in jobs sales pitch

Re: Obama disconnects rhetoric, reality

There must be some basis for your opinion, at least that is what you said to me, so what is the basis for your opinion?
In fact there is... I will explain it first since I expect you will dismiss the links I will provide later. And yes I base that opinion on my past history of posts with you.

The media loves Barack Obama - has since 2007. I base that off of a few different

1.) The Journolist scandal which had many in the media trying to trump up ways to support Obama
2.) The following report (which I'm sure you'll claim is very biased - but you'll need to refute the data in it) http://www.mrc.org/SpecialReports/2008/obama/ObamaMarginofVictory.pdf
3.) Michelle Obama:

CNN said:
CNN reporter: "How's the family ready for this [the election]? It's going to be quite vicious, isn't it? How do you prepare for that?"

First Lady Michelle Obama: "You know, it's … we're ready, you know. Our children, you know, could care less about what we're doing. We work hard to do that. Fortunately, we have help from the media. I have to say this: I'm very grateful for the support and kindness that we've gotten. People have respected their privacy and in that way, I think, you know, no matter what people may feel about my husband's policies or what have you, they care about children and that's been good to see."

And there's more... but I think that's probably enough.

Since the Republican Party favor corporations far more than the Democratic Party does, why would the corporate media give more deference to the Democrats
Can be be more precise? Who is the "corporate media"?

Many of the Democrats would like to see spending limits on political campaigns, but if that were to come to pass the reduction in political ad revenue would hurt the corporate media. Right?
See above question... I don't know what you're referencing.

With this evidence and $2.50 I can get a ride on the NYC subway. If I were on trial and you were a juror I would be mighty worried, if you considered BS evidence like this.

With your opinion, they'd probably make me pay double to ride the subway.

Like I'm worried it doesn't meet with your approval.

The point is, I actually do base my opinions on something... unlike your opinions which are based on a fictional ideological "belief".

Please prove this to me.

Re: Obama disconnects rhetoric, reality

Please prove this to me.

You prove it yourself in nearly every post, but I've stated before - I'm not here to prove anything to you - I'm here to CORRECT you. Speaking to you about facts is akin to having a scientific discussion with an evangelical.

Now, will you get back to the original topic and stop hijacking the thread? Please?

Do I need to remind you that the purpose here at DP is not to discuss other posters?

Then you should stop initiating it.

Back to the topic:

The issue with Obama is he's trying, politically, to latch onto an issue that he can use as a wedge for his campaign. The rhetoric of "blame someone else" has been fairly consistent throughout his 3 years as President. The first 2 years was blamed on Bush, now the last year is blame Congress - specifically Republicans in the House. This doesn't seem to be working very well... eventually American's will want someone to be an adult and own the issues, and fixing them, instead of the break in reality that we see the Obama campaign try yet again.

The reason such things get dismissed is because they are sloppy, biased, and don't really prove anything. The candidate doing better should get better press in a horse race. Proping up the candidate running behind would be biased.

The key word is "should". Should get better press...

How does it feel for me to CORRECT you? :lamo

I'm still waiting... when's the correction coming?

I agree. Obama was doing better, so he SHOULD have received better press. So, why the complaining that he did?
