Hoffa Threatens GOP At Obama Event: "Take These Son Of Bitches Out"

What he did wrong is the same thing politicians and supporters of both sides have been doing. He is continuing the "us versus them" mentality that has caused no cooperation or compromise in finding "real solutions" to the problems in this country.

Here's a hint to both sides. The GOP, Dems, liberals, and conservatives sides do not have it all right and it takes ideas and solutions from ALL sides to make this country great. The problem now is all sides think their way should be the ONLY way and now spend their time not in finding solutions but making sure the other side looks bad at all costs.

It's real sad and no side is clean in this mess.

President Obama has done every thing but to get down on his hands and knees trying to compromise with the Tea Baggers and thier republican supporters.

It's more then apparent that the repubs and TB'ers have no intention of compromise they are intent on continuing the plundering of any wealth held by the middle class and the poor.

Good for VP Biden and J Hoffa for thier efforts to energise the middle class and poor segments of our economy, to wake them up and get them ready to hit the voting booths,

Notice how it's always only Fox videos that seem to rile up the left, while the rest of the MSM leans left on almost everything they do (words spoken by news anchors)? Clean your own house first my friend.
It's seems to me your glossing over the fact Fox dishonestly edited the video. If you have a problem with what Hoffa said in total that's fine, but when you purposely distort what is said - that's lying plain and simple.

 remember when the left wing in general and the media in particular were all aghast at the horror of the notion that someone would quote Jefferson at a Tea Party Rally, and how doesn't that mean that all conservatives are so full of anger and violence and rage?

yeah. Expect them to sort of take this with a shrug.

Jimmy Hoffa, of course, will naturally be held responsible by the media the next time some nutcase shoots at or otherwise assaults a Republican / Tea Party supporter. Right? Right?

oh, wait, no. not right. Because being a liberal means never being held responsible for your rhetoric. :)

NEXT TIME?!?!?!?

Someone shot at or assulted a tea party supporter? When?

Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords wounded in shooting

WHOOOPS! She was a Dem.

What the media should report is that Fox dishonestly doctored the video but they won't. An edit mark can be seen clearly just prior to Hoffa saying: "Take These Son Of Bitches Out." Watch closely and you will see the level of the camera abruptly change. As they say, parts ended up on the floor. Does anyone need more evidence that Fox is dishonest?

They sell a product, and that product is confirmation bias. MSNBC also uses this business model. Personally, I don't consider either network to be news. Additionally, both are basically unwatchable for those who aren't seeking reinforcement of their own narrow political views.

That this abortion of a president can continue to get a modicum of support here, or anywhere, is proof positive that this country is a shadow of its former self.

Imagine...if there was a leader or president that would actually call on people to tone down such rhetoric...for the good of the country...

All three were right wing extremists.
Really? You know whats beyond pathetic? You truly BELIEVE that. :lamo

Dont let a little thing like truth get in the way of your leftist utopia baby...

I've got a question for those of you apologizing for Hoffa. What would be your reaction had a leader of any right wing demographic come out and said "take those sons of bitches out" in regards to left wing leadership in the House, Senate, and White House? Im willing to bet you would be hopping mad.

Hoffa's comments were to call House and Senate leaders sons of bitches....explain to me how that isn't wrong? How it does anything to add to political discourse? Further you are ignoring he is directly linking those elected in the 2010 midterms and those the tea party supported directly or indirectly with his comments and you just let that skate.

To me, Hoffa was wrong. That isnt politcal rhetoric. Its frenzied us versus them hate speech whether hes talking about voting or direct action. Its wrong.

What's truly disturbing is the lengths you seem willing to go to do shield yourself from reality -- just to protect your one-sided political views.

I'm not apologizing for what Hoffa said, its quite clear what he said. And earlier in the day Ed Henry of Fox News made it clear Hoffa was talking about voting next November. But that did stop Fox from editing the video and distorting what he said later in the day.

Obama's stimulus plan was nothing more than a thinly-veiled Dem welfare scheme to benefit the public employees' unions that got him elected. It also served to delay the inevitable downsizing of state and municipal budgets...with the unfortunate consequence that now the necessary cuts will be even more painful that they would have been a year ago. Your buddy in the WH bet the farm on a rapid economic recovery to bail out the public sector. A couple years into his term we still face record high unemployment with most analysts in agreement that it will still be above 9-10% when the next election cycle comes around.

You wanna stick with the lie about those two? You think the Giffords shooter was a right wing extremists and not a pot smoking liberal whackjob? Do you HONESTLY believe that or just insist on it by way of rabid defense of ideology?

^^ Empty partisan rhetoric ^^

Much of the stimulus was a direct tax cut for working families. Much of it was also assistance to the states, many of which don't even allow collective bargaining by state workers.

There is no comparison to J Hoffa calling for a voter turnout and S Palin putting cross hairs on Rep Giffords

He was clearly a right-wing nut job who frequently espoused anti-government views and conspiracy theories about government. A lot of his writings were taken from right-wing nutjob David Wynn Miller.

Would you mind saying what Hoffa meant when he said:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

Right-wing bloggers misled by dishonest Fox News video editing are attacking Teamsters President James Hoffa, Jr. for supposedly urging violence against Tea Party activists during a Labor Day speech. Conservatives are also attacking President Obama, who appeared at the event, for "sanctioning violence against fellow Americans" by failing to denounce Hoffa. But fuller context included in other Fox segments makes clear that Hoffa wasn't calling for violence but was actually urging the crowd to vote out Republican members of Congress.

During the segment that the bloggers have latched onto, Fox edited out the bolded portion of Hoffa's comments:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

In an initial report on Hoffa's speech at 1 p.m. on Fox News, Ed Henry reported that Hoffa said that "we'll remember in November who's with the working people" and "said of the Tea Party and of Republicans, 'let's take these sons of bitches out.'"
Dinstinction w/o a difference, as the call is STILL to "take them out".
Not vote them out, not remove them from office, but to "take them out".
No way to argue that this is not the sort of inflammatory rhetoric the left whined and cried about not all that long ago.

I will say that your efficacy in combining a mindless defense of Hoffa with a mindless attack on Fox is commendable - very nice of you to waste just one post instead of two.

oh, wait, no. not right. Because being a liberal means never being held responsible for your rhetoric. :)

1. The full quote shows he was talking about voting the people out.

2. Yes, he used aggressive language but all sides do it and personally I don't care. I only really take notice when a side starts brandishing guns at their rally's or in order to protest someone which I've only seen from one side if I'm to be honest. If some goobers want to go out and listen to Hoffa no skin off my back.

3. All of these threads turning this stuff into this side vs. that side is stupid. Thanks for contributing to that. Wouldn't expect any less of you...

Sadly, that's not true.

Reasonable people generally don't.

"No one" taking them seriously would've meant that back during the Gabby Giffords things the media and many ost of the left wouldn't have exploded into the idiotic and ridiculous frenzy by doing the same thing as the story in the OP did, taking statements and treating them as if they're literal rather than looking at hte context, and claiming that the Tea Party and Republicans caused it because of "violent rhetoric".

To a point I can understand the OP's mindset...this is the exact kind of "rhetoric" that many on the left and the media had a cow with claiming it helped cause Gifford's shooting and the type of thing, if said by a Tea Party leader instead of a Union Leader, would've been added to the list of "violent rhetoric" by the "extemist group" of "teabaggers".
True dat. MSNBC had a field day speculating on the Gifford's shooting cause it fit their narrative. Fox is having a field day with this because it fits this ridiculous narrative that Unions go around breaking peoples legs. Stupid on both sides and I fear that sensible people are on the decline in this country.

I'm not defending him, I'm attacking Fox for editing the video of him. I can't convince you or anyone else what he meant by his words. But I sure can attack Fox for editing the video.Deal with it. Fair and Balanced - NOT!

Sorry, Fox produced an edited video to distort what really happened. "We Distort, You Decide"

I take back my commendation - your mindless attacks have taken up FAR too many posts.
