Hoffa Threatens GOP At Obama Event: "Take These Son Of Bitches Out"

What we know is that Hoffa presented himself like a moronic asshole. He refuses to apologize, which reaffirms his status as a moronic asshole. Rhetoric like this from either side hurts American politics. There should be no excusing of his actions.

Just so we are clear, apparently its ok to call the guy on the other side a son of a bitch? You guys are ok with that? Because I see all kinds of sour remarks for editing from Fox but no comment on his total us versus them mentality and a point blank ad hom with the supposed aim of getting out the vote.

Why cant you just say his comments were wrong because there is no right context to use that sort of speech? I do not get how you can actively defend what he did.

Birds of the feather flock together the libtards are enjoying every bit of it and they just might ask Hoffa Jr. to run for president :)

I'll tell you what...Hoffa didn't do nObama any favors, everybody that I know here is MORE pissed off. :) and that's the way I like it. :)

Look forget the partisanship here for a sec...both sides do the same thing...everyday I get an email and everyone is more vicious towards obama than the next...the right has their white supremists that advocate violence.

who? please let me know so that I can denounce them.

Nobody told Hoffa that the polite thing to do is pretend that there is NOT a war on working people. The ostrich is the bird of choice this season. Of course, its a vey nice polite ostrich which knows its place and would not dare make a scene or ruffle the feathers of any other bird. Eventually, he will go extinct - but be lauded for his politeness.

How about Fox News' long history of accusing Obama of being a Muslim, racist, terrorist sympathizing, Kenyan? Denounce away.... :popcorn2:

From the two books that Obama wrote:

From "Dreams From My Father":

"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

And From "Audacity of Hope":

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Now.. What do you have to say about this???

This thread is a good example why no one takes hyperpartisans seriously.

the teamsters seem to take the thug Hoffa seriously

economic reality appears to be what you claim is a "war" on "working" people just as grading curves are a war on the uneducated and track meets are a jihad against the slow

What I would say is that the first book was about Obama's formative years, and he was talking about coming to grips with his half-black/half-white lineage, when he had essentially no contact with his birth father. It was a coming of age stoy -- not a recitation of his current beliefs.

The second quote is, typically, taken out of context. He was saying that he would support Muslims if there was a witch hunt against them, such as we saw against Japanese Americans during WWII.

Now who's going to step up to the plate and denounce Fox? :popcorn2:

You do need to keep up. the self proclaimed "capitalist tool" Forbes Magazine publicly agrees that the war is in full swing:

The Final Battle In The War Against Unions Is Underway - Forbes

Apparently some on the far right did not get the memo that its not a secret anymore that they need to publicly deny.

Here are 4 more quotations from Obama's two books.

From "Dreams From My Father":

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

From "Dreams From My Father" :

"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

From :Dreams From My Father":

"There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white."

From :Dreams From My Father":

"It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

What did he say that he should apologize for? Is Fox going to apologize for misrepresenting what he said?

Fox Doctors Hoffa Speech To Fabricate Call For Violence | Media Matters for America

Right-wing bloggers misled by dishonest Fox News video editing are attacking Teamsters President James Hoffa, Jr. for supposedly urging violence against Tea Party activists during a Labor Day speech. Conservatives are also attacking President Obama, who appeared at the event, for "sanctioning violence against fellow Americans" by failing to denounce Hoffa. But fuller context included in other Fox segments makes clear that Hoffa wasn't calling for violence but was actually urging the crowd to vote out Republican members of Congress.

During the segment that the bloggers have latched onto, Fox edited out the bolded portion of Hoffa's comments:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

In an initial report on Hoffa's speech at 1 p.m. on Fox News, Ed Henry reported that Hoffa said that "we'll remember in November who's with the working people" and "said of the Tea Party and of Republicans, 'let's take these sons of bitches out.'"

[snip]

Ok, so what's different? :lamo

Right, again, this was an introspective book about his mental process as he was growing up. I've actually read it, so I understand the context. Have you?

It's pretty clear what Hoffa meant by his comment:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

What about the part where Hoffa says he has an army and they're ready to march?

try as you may, but you won't be able to propagandize your way out of this one.

How is the weather over there on planet right wing paranoia and crazy?

Just because you keep repeating a small snip of what he said, does not mean that you are right or that the total meaning of what he said will change ....

if someone said it's time to take Obama out, you would be cool with it?

Excuses excuses and very lame by the way.

You will always see politics through tunnel vision. Some people just can't see the truth even if it slaps them on the cheek.

I never heard nObama apologizing for this statements nor his books. Have you??

you make the unionista error of pretending that unions=working people

So union members are not working people?!?!?!?!?! So other working people not in unions have not piggybacked for decade after decade upon the advances of unionists and their contracts!?!?!?!? So a war on some working people because they are in union and thus your enemy is okay by you because you see it as a limited action that we are suppose to pretend will have no wider impact upon other workers?!?!?!?!

The secret is no longer a secret. It is well known and for the radical right warriors to pretend to play ostrich is just silly at this point

the funny thing is... neither you nor Hoffa really want war.

Ok, so what's different? :lamo

And what were you saying about the Giffords shooting, again?

edit: And the Sarah Palin rhetoric that people were talking about at the time, I mean.

Oh I only need one fact... Gabrielle Gifford (D) shot while meeting constituents. That alone makes it politically motivated since she was the target.

Now you can follow the Fox News and GOP talking points attempting to distance themselves from this man and his views and attempt to paint him as some sort of crazy man, but anyone who actually makes up his/her own opinions on subjects will clearly see that the attack was not a random shooting at a random person, but a shooting of a Democratic representative of the United States Congress by a person who had anti-government views, a view that is very much prevalent to the right wing aspect of US politics.

But be my guest and live with your head in the ground... it can be comforting when the facts of issues are hard to bear... both sides do it...

But back to the subject I say... if you can.

Fox News was/is wrong in the way they portraited the comments.. yes or no?

yes, i do believe FOX is wrong for editing the clip.

as for the rest of your post, i won't address it... i'm cutting back on dealing with zealots, i'd rather masturbate with a hand grenade than deal with yet another zombie

I notice you didn't answer my question, which I'll take to mean that you haven't actually read either book. You're just taking sentences out of context -- no doubt copied and pasted from a right-wing website written by someone who also didn't read the books.

In short, if you want to crticize Obama's books you should at least read them first.
