Rep. Maxine Waters, the liberal lawmaker from southern California, continued to press for Democrats and President Obama to adopt a more combative style with Republicans ahead of next year's elections."This is a tough game. You can't be intimidated. You can't be frightened. And as far as I'm concerned -- the Tea Party can go straight to hell," Waters told an Inglewood, California audience at a "Kitchen Table Summit" Saturday night, according to Los Angeles television station KABC

Well, here we have it...The more civil tone....When Gov. Perry says something that liberals don't like the call is all about civility, yet Maxine Waters, the socialist can say whatever she wants.....Pure Allensky.

who? thanks.

The disrespectful tone shrieking across the aisle is disgusting and counterproductive, but we keep electing childish idiots who feed into the hate of opposition. Just as much our fault as theirs.

I guess Rep. Watters will not be coming for TEA.

reminds one of "YOU LIE!", doesn't it?

And we have a classic case of selective outrage.

I don't feel the need to compete over the idiocy of our political representatives. Any such behavior is unacceptable.

I think its spelled Alinsky. Democrat propagandist. Like Frank Luntz is for Republicans.

Stupid is as stupid does... in this case it's not even an accusation it's just a pejorative statement.

or spitting at black people, or calling people treasonous or terrorists, or emphasising someone's father's African background ... yea the US right and the Tea Party are masters of the hidden attack.... at least Rep Walters is honest and direct and call them on it.

Good for her. She blasted Obama for being incompetent...black supporters of Obama based solely on his race for being morons...why shouldnt she go after the Tea Party too?

Unfortunately, Waters reflects her party to a "T".

or spitting at black people

A deliberate lie cooked up by the CBC....

or calling people treasonous

An opinion voiced by Perry, and thought by many Americans that would rather not see Vimar repeated.

or terrorists

Usually liberals calling conservatives, or TEA party members that, most recently by the VP...Good job...

or emphasising someone's father's African background

The anti Colonialist bent Obama Sr. had is quite telling in the current President's opinion of his own country.

yea the US right and the Tea Party are masters of the hidden attack

Or just that liberals, including euro quasi socialists are adept at the dishonest method of holding one to a standard they have no intention of abiding by.

at least Rep Walters is honest and direct and call them on it.

No she isn't, she is a study in disingenuousness. But I guess in liberal circles that is to be praised.

i know, thanks.

Oh, so you were being dishonest when posting the question? I figured, that is why I ignored it....

In any case, Luntz is no where near the same as Allinsky, the author of 'rules for radicals'... to even try to make that case, I am sure that Allinsky would be insulted....

j-mac

You're incorrect Redress.

We have two classic cases

Shocker, people have a need to speak out about bad behavior more when its being done by people they don't like.

I can agree with the closing of your post, however, I am not outraged, either selectively, or otherwise. I think it is sad when the opposition in a political forum tries to use that weak argument.

Not talking about you ofcourse...

Luntz has a company. The slogan is "Its not what you say, its what they hear."

Cognitive linguistics is the cornersone of Republican messaging.

Its why everything one hears from them is repetitive and term-specific. No divergence from the "message" can be tolerated because that would change what they "hear".

Almost the entire Republican platform is based on 30 years of "framing" issues, using what they know about how your brain works that you don't.

And the Democrats are catching up fast. Which is NOT a good thing.

Ok, and how does that compare with a man that wrote a theme specific playbook that liberals have been using to usher in something other than what this country was founded on?

What bothers me more is how easily we all climb on board. Stupid little catch phrases keep popping up on both sides and it drives me nuts. I can't tell you how many times I've seen somebody reference budget cuts on here using that "scalpel vs. machete" analogy we heard so much, or "tax cuts for the wealthy", "throw grandma from a cliff", "party of no", "tax and spend liberals", etc., etc., etc.

It makes me feel like a mindless drone when I catch myself using these stupid little catch phrases. Maybe that's part of the reason I don't watch a lot of cable news...but I've even seen it reach into written news.

She told a group to go to hell. Bringing up that stupid book is nothing more than a talking point that tells everyone here that if we want to know what you're thinking before you even get a chance to post we can just listen to Limbaugh or Beck and then we don't even have to read your posts.

And to think I constantly hear conservatives talking about how "thin skinned" Obama is, lol. You see, it's funny, because some of the biggest whiners I've ever met have been conservatives on forums.

some of them might be, but the majority of them are liberals

I watch for them and try to keep them from taking root. So they don't become "truth" over time, which is why they do it in the first place.

One of the keys to this type of messaging is it almost invariably leaves key elements of the issue at hand out. Find what was left out, point that out. Rinse. Repeat.

Sucks I have to watch both sides for this now. The left was always so scattershot and disorganized on this before.
