Wells Fargo To Charge You 3 Bucks To Spend Your Own Money

You're the master of putting words into people's mouths (fingers?). Why do you absolutely refuse to have an honest debate with people? You actually waste the time creating false arguments from other people instead of addressing legitimate posts.

And here we go again with the rightwing whining. The fact remains that he argued that there is nothing partisan about this issue, and the reason he gave was that the media said nothing about it in the article. Once again, we have a rightwinger defending the ignorance of another rightwingers argument.

Meanwhile, the banksters are paying lobbyists millions of dollars to buy politicians so that they write the laws in a way that allows the banksters to continue to price-gouge the american public.

You made this a partisan issue. You mentioned the media. He responded to your idiotic arguments. Don't be blind, accept your hackish nonsense for what it is and rise above. Argue like an adult for once..instead of a brainwashed, thoughtless shell.

This is about a fee that you would have to pay for having the ATM card at all, not just for using it at another bank's ATM.

Ok then, that's easy enough to fix. They're open late on Fridays, I'll simply stop in and cash a check from my own account in the future, and get rid of the ATM card alltogether.

No, I didn't make it a partisan issue. It *is* a partisan issue because the republicans have been bought and paid for with the banksters record profits, which they stole from taxpayers.

It's time for rightwingers to think for themselves instead of parroting what the media tells them to think.

I guess... Personally I'd prefer they just don't make a pain in the ass of themselves.

Banks are always looking for new ways to charge people more money. That's what they do. So as a consumer, I would changes banks. And if all banks charged this fee, I wouldn't use a debit card.

This entire situation demonstrates how government interference usually fails.

I would prefer that as well, but I'm not adverse to doing what needs to be done to make their lives miserable if they're going to make my life miserable.

Sangha do you have anything constructive to say regarding the original OP? I see lots of opinion with little facts to back it up.

I had a feeling that something like this was coming as soon as I heard they had limited the fees that banks can collect from debit cards. It's a way to try to push people to use debit cards less and credit cards (which the banks make a LOT more money on) more.

You can google all of 'em. Don't see anything to indicate this was a rightwing policy, program, or suggestion.

Hmmm??? I think he meant the $3 dollar charge by Wellsfargo as being right wing..

The dems cut cut charges to help business, and the banks are now going to turn around and gouge the consumer.. Way to help the economy.. Yes.. Very right wing..

Sounds like the nature of business to me....If the government doesn't want cost associated with a service passed along to customers, then maybe the government should get its nose out of business.

So them responding to a government policy (to help business, not people) is purely right wing evil, but the policy (and people who created it) that lead to the change has no culpability??

I was a loyal customer of Wells Fargo for over 20 years but no more.

I think if the rest of the Banking community does't play follow the leader Wells Fargo will lose business.

I do business with US bank and use my Visa debit card for everything and pay nothing for the privilege.

If all banks go this way, credit unions will see an increase in people joining. till then shop around, I pay no fees on debit, credit or checking account where I bank.

If people don't like it, they will go somewhere else.
Free market competition, and all that.

If you're going to look for the changes that led to these changes, you're going to have go back to the financial deregulation that occurred when Reagan was president.

And yes, it was the rightwingers who fought for deregulation of the banking industry. Before that, savings banks (where most people kept their savings) were able to profit by investing the money that people deposited into their savings acct. Now, banks are more profitable than ever but we are somehow to believe the inane proposition that they can't make a profit unless they charge us to take our money out of the bank using a debit card. Somehow, the fully automated processes of today are somehow more expensive than the manually intensive operations from decades ago.

Yep, profits are evil...everything should be free.

Have not paid banking fees for years. Still don't today for checking, debit, or credit. People are free to shop for the service that fits them best.

Facts are evil....we should only use straw men arguments

Oh I see, only libs can get away with reading into talking point crap....Tell me then so that it isn't a 'strawman' argument....Do you think that profits are an evil? We already have one lib that said they are....

Let me know when you want to discuss an argument that anyone actually made. Until then, maybe you can answer my question: Are facts evil?

Exploiting people for personal gain is, at the very least, "not good." Perhaps most people could be reasonable enough to admit that. Probably not.

Funny, I just walked into my bank (Banner Bank, WA) Friday to cash a check. They suggested a new checking account for me where they will give me a 5 cent rebate for every debit transaction. Checking is free, no debit charges.

Someone's fooling someone here.
