House to Vote on "Cut, Cap, and Balance" Bill

Nice spin except the economy went bad i 2007 after the dems took back control of the house.

So now it's the houses fault? Wouldn't that mean that the inability to come up with a deal is the houses fault, and not Obamas'?

Or is it only the houses' fault when its' controlled by the dems and IOKIYAR?

Nice spin except you avoid what Obama is doing. Notice Obama still can not control the democrats.

Obama is losing this fight.

Obama claims compromise but once again hs shuts out the GOP and talks to democrats behind closed doors

Nice spin, but you are ignoring what the house is doing. Notice that its' not the presidents job to control any member of congress. And meeting with members of your own party is what every president has done. But IOKIYAR

So the president can not control members of his own party and you make excuses for him

I thought Obama was ready to compromise? You don't shut out the GOP and call it compromise. This is not a good public policy when you keep talking about how we need it fixed.

Once again we see what a partisan hack politician Obama is.

This is not about our economy this is about how Obama can use it to get elected in 2012

I'm not sure why setting spending limits and a balanced budget amendment are bad things....Many states have balance budget amendments and seem to do relatively well paying for services w/o screwing the pooch to do so.

I live in a state with a "balanced budget" amendment. Usually it means they resort to silly tricks to kick the can down to the next year, when they do it all over again.

That's what Tim Pawlenty did for years, so I guess he would be a great President if that's what you want.

So the president can not control members of his own party and you make excuses for him

I have no idea why you would think I would make excuses for something that every politician does, but I have an idea why you only criticize Obama for doing so. IOKIYAR

He is. Having a meeting with dems does not "shut out" the GOP, just as the GOP-only meetings the republicans have do not shut out the Dems

Once again we see what a partisan hack politician Obama is.

IOKIYAR

This is not about our economy this is about how Obama can use it to get elected in 2012

and it's also about how the rightwingers can use it to get elected in 2012, but IOKIYAR

I think you could say the same thing for Tea Party House Republicans. Voting on a bill that won't ever pass so they can get re-elected in 2012.

Nice spin except Obama is showing he does not want solutions he wants issues the democrat can use for the election that is why today Obama has shut out the GOP.

Obama should be for all the people not just democrats.

Nice spin but the rightwingers are showing that they do not want solutions; they want issues the gop can use for the election. That is why the gop has refused to compromise.

Ahh... the days of Hope and Change... but we're stuck with "Rope a Dope"

You show you know nothing of what you talk about.

Michelle Bachmann and 8 other GOP tea party members voted against it last night because they do not want the ceiling raised.

They have? I thought cap, cut and trade includes raising the debt cieling?

that's not compromise?

And the rest of the gop voted for it because they wanted the debt ceiling raised because their corporate masters told them to

That's nice rhetoric, but we all know that it's election season so everybody's playing to their base.

Wrong it is Obama setting the standards he has made clear what he wants to avoid a veto. That is not compromise that is an elitist bully

And as we all know, Michele Bachmann isn't running for anything...

If ( a big if, but lets run with it) she gets the nomination, she can't run for re-election to Congress. Minnesota law does not permit a person to be a candidate for two offices. So she's not running for re-election (yet), she's got her sights set a little higher.

No they want cuts in spending and a balanced budget. The show they are willing to compromise.

Obama has shown no compromise.
