Low Registration Sinks Tea Party Convention

No, I mean I stood there on the corner during my break and listened to them say those things. I was there.

So its just hear say of someone with a dislike or hatred for so called tea party. No evidence what so ever.

That's weird, I remember listening in on a Tea Party rally near Andrews St (I used to work in the First Federal building), and hearing basically racism, and anti-Democrat rhetoric. It was all about "taking our country back". Taking it back from "them". Them being gays, Jews, blacks, Hispanics, and women.

And Bachmann is a tea party darling:lamo

Really? in DC? I think you are not telling the truth. I think Zyph was there as well..... :lamo

No, in Rochester, NY. When I lived there. It's my hometown, as has been discussed in other threads.

So its just hear say of someone with a dislike or hatred for so called tea party. No evidence what so ever.

So... firsthand knowledge of listening to actual Tea Partiers at their own rally isn't evidence?

And Bachmann is a tea party darling:lamo

I'm just telling you what they said. Opposition to abortion rights and government's ability to control wages (such as enforcing equal pay for men and women) were things they discussed.

I'm not even drawing conclusions about these guys. I'm just telling you what they said. And I'm more than a little insulted by the accusations of deceit here. If you're going to call someone a liar, you'd better have something to back that up. In this case, I'm showing you my evidence to counter Hicup's claims about the Tea Partiers in Rochester, NY. We are talking about the exact same people. Both of us, with firsthand experience with them. He is one of them, and I am a critic of them. But again, I'm just telling you what I heard. That's it.

Maybe rochester is full or racists, the tea party has nothing to do with it. Still I think you are not telling the truth.

Not when you are making it up.

Oh I believe you. I believe they are very anti equal rights and very inconsistent.

Who? the Tea party?

Lower taxes, smaller government, more accountable representatives. Racism, abortion, all that junk has nothing to do with the tea party.

Hiccup is a member, he says Paschendele is full of it, I believe the insider, that matches my experiences with the tea party along with other tea party folks here at dp's experience, than that of a biased agendad outsider.

Your one chart kinda confuses me .. cause according to liberals like yourself .. tax hikes on the rich are suppose to increase what they pay in taxes ..

Yet according to your now and then dot graph .. after Reagan tac cuts the millionares tax was 47.7% ….. then after clinton raised them to 39% their tax rate actually was reduced to 36.4%??

you're own data is saying that Clinton cut the taxes to the rich by 8.7% over what Reagan did . While Bush only cut the top rate by 4% ….. so you own data shows that Clinton “cut” the tax on the rich by more then Bush.

You are reading the "dot graph". It shows effective tax rates, not actual ones.

Speaking as a tea party participant, we have lives and can't be all tea party all the time. Wait until next election gets underway for real. "You ain't seen nuthin yet"!

That just proves that the Teabaggers are only concerned with winning.

We already know why the income tax curve is trending almost straight, while the payroll tax is trending upward. It's called social security and medicare.

Umm, take another look at the last graph. It shows that the payroll tax is trending DOWNward, and income taxes are trending UP, the opposite of what you falsely claimed

Gay rights has never come up in any discussions I've had with other tea party members? I may be agianst gay marriage but I am not anti gay necessarily. besides, it's like 300th on my list of more important matter we need to address with our bloated government..

James? That's not the definition of hearsay. He's an actual witness. Hearsay would be his buddy telling him he saw it, and P relaying it to us.

To wit:

Hearsay is information gathered by one person from another person concerning some event, condition, or thing of which the first person had no direct experience. When submitted as evidence, such statements are called hearsay evidence. As a legal term, "hearsay" can also have the narrower meaning of the use of such information as evidence to prove the truth of what is asserted. Such use of "hearsay evidence" in court is generally not allowed. This prohibition is called the hearsay rule.
For example, a witness says "Susan told me Tom was in town". Since the witness did not see Tom in town, the statement would be hearsay evidence to the fact that Tom was in town, and not admissible. However, it would be admissible as evidence that Susan said Tom was in town, and on the issue of her knowledge of whether he was in town.

See bolded.

I'm not a racist, and I haven't seen any racism in the tea party. I suppose if I held the left to the same standard, you are all north korean supporting, troop hatin, drugg addled anarchists.....

I've seen your anti republican war protests... (you all disapeard for lybia. )

What context? That both Bachmann and hiccup are anti gay...

so are most democrats otherwise gay marriage would be the norm. it's always a fight. to paint that as a tea party platform when it is clearly not, is disingenuous.

I am not a racist, I don't care who you marry and I think the 3 fundamental tenents of the tea party is what is going to save my nation from ruin and tyranny.
