The Boston Globe reported Thursday that US President Barack Obama's parents may have planned to give him up for adoption prior to his birth, but then changed their minds.

The report cites a conversation between the Kenyan-born Obama Sr. and an Immigration official that took place on April 12, 1961.

According to a record of the conversation, Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, was "making arrangements with the Salvation Army to give the baby away", the Globe reported.

"Subject got his USC wife 'Hapai' (Hawaiian for pregnant) and although they were married they do not live together and Miss Dunham is making arrangements with the Salvation Army to give the baby away," the quoted memo says.

I'd like to put him up for adoption, too, but I don't think any other country will take him.

What a douchebag thing to say. Even if this is true, which I doubt it is, why would you make fun of someone because their parents considered giving them up for adoption.

It must be all of that vinegar and water he ingests.

If you were a better reader, you would have understood that I was expressing my displeasure with Obama as President, but perhaps the process of becoming a humorless, self righteous ideologue has made it difficult for you to appreciate any opinion but your own.

Many, many wonderful human beings are adopted. My best friend and my children to name 3 of them.

To turn this into a partisan thing...I can't even describe my hatred for that.

Good thing he wasn't adopted. Otherwise we'd never hear the end of Republicans bitching about how he's not a real person because he doesn't have a live parent certificate.

I'm sure he gets it. You don't like Obama. The problem is the way you're going after him. If you don't get that, then I'm afraid you probably don't get much of anything.

Hell, his grandparents raised him, because his birth parents had the parental instincts of your average house cat. He purdy much was put up for adoption.

Of course if you're going to try to be funny, it helps when you are actually funny.

Somethings really aren't the kinds of things one jokes about. How ironic coming from a conservative to poke fun at adoption of all things. Oh wait, you call yourself an independent. My bad.

Oh Boston Globe, why is this even worthy of a news story?

So who else is in the litter?

His folks didn't know it they wanted him, before he became a world class appeaser, liar, and druggie.

At least I waited to not want him around until I heard him start the lies.

And don't ask what lies, I have posted over 150 confirmed lies link at least 10 times.

Obama's history makes me feel for the little kid he was sometimes. It really is no wonder he is the globalist he is, or that he is an American apologist. Perhaps people that liked and voted for him thought it was really progressive and all to choose a man with such an unconventional background, but, personally, this is the USA, and I think we should be able to find people with solid American backgrounds that don't have loads of baggage. I completely understand Obama's disconnect.. how could it be different?
It's not about race, or about being here since the founding fathers did their thing. I can listen to someone like Marco Rubio, a first generation American of Cuban immigrant parents, and just FEEL the love of country pouring out of him. That should be an absolute requirement for a POTUS. I don't think Obama has it, and I understand why.
I remember all the hubbub about McCain, questioning how sound of mind he is after being a POW and all... but no one wondered how sound of mind Obama was with his history?? Very odd..
People should be careful who they vote for. If you vote for a global citizen you will get a global president. Maybe some people know that and like it. Not me.

I didn't realize you have insight into his parents' parental instincts. How about you go spew BS about something you actually know - like bashing gays or poor people.
