LIBERTY, Texas (AP) — More than a dozen men accused of taking part in a series of sexual assaults on an 11-year-old girl are expected in court Wednesday in a case that has divided and horrified their southeast Texas town

Here is the part that is really pissing me off. Many residents of Cleveland, Texas, which is just north of Houston, are saying that the girl deserved it, because of the way she dressed.

My suggestion? Castrate the punks who raped this little girl, and while we are at it, cut out the tongues of some of the punk-ass residents of Cleveland, Texas. Hey, some of these assholes wear lipstick, so they must deserve it, right?

Article is here.

perhaps we should just bomb the town? disgusting.

She deserved it because of the way she was dressed? Damn, shades of Islam cropping up here!

"I had to rape her, the slut showed her ankle!"

In other news, portraying men as without control because of the way someone is dressed or looks is insulting to the extreme and that men are so infantile as to never be trusted with any female.

Good for others in the town for shouting those idiots down.

11 YO???? I raised daughters, youngest is still a teen, I know how mature young teens can look. But 11 YO????? How can that many people think an 11 YO is at LEAST 18? No way. Word got around... girl that has sex... I bet she is one messed up kid. I can see the "I didn't know" defense POSSIBLY for a 15, 16, YO, but 11?? NO WAY!! Disgusting. Those people knew she was a kid.

Is this the same case where the DA was accused of racism because all of the suspects were black?

Here's an even worse story

Rape Victim Apologizes to Church? — FaithTrust Institute

That’s right. In 1997, a fifteen-year-old girl was raped (allegedly) by Ernest Willis, an adult church member. As a result, she became pregnant. She was instructed by her pastor, Chuck Phelps, to come before the church, confess, and apologize for getting pregnant, and then she was kicked out of Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, NH. The rapist came before the church and apologized for being unfaithful to his wife.

And one of the men who raped this kid was 27 years old. Can't wait to see his ass in prison, where he can get the same treatment he gave the little girl.

God damn I get mad at stories like this? You know, other than murder, I think sex crimes should carry the death penalty! I'm serious.

Tim-

Or torture. Lots and lots of sadistic, disturbing forms of torture.

I have mixed feelings on sex crimes, think lifetime registration for MANY is unfounded and clogs up the system so REAL bad guys walk around and rape and kill at will, BUT--- 11 YO?? No way they thought this girl was an adult. I wonder about the parents some, too. Having raised 5 kids I know you can't watch them 24/7, but at age 11 I knew EXACTLY where my kids were. This is one nasty case. Maybe the people that are in a void over the Casey trial ending can come here...

Here's how you got that impression...

The case shined a sometimes unflattering spotlight on Cleveland after some in the town of about 9,000 residents suggested the girl was culpable in part for what happened, claiming she wore makeup and looked older. Some also accused her parents, immigrants from Mexico, of not watching her more closely. Those suggestions were sharply criticized by many Cleveland residents and by community and religious groups outside the city.

This is inflammatory bull**** and has no place in a news story. Ridiculous.

Well sir, let me tell you a true story.

I was 20, and I was hanging out at a bowling alley on Saturday night. There was a girl there who was VERY beautiful, who I assumed to be around my age (or at least 17-18). I decided to talk to her and found her friendly and intrested... I was very pleased to be chatting up such a pretty gal, who looked like she could literally be on the cover of a fashion magazine.

So after a while, with things going so well, I decided to see if she'd go somewhere else with me. I offered to take her to some other joint. She suddenly looked nervous, and asked what time it was. "Almost nine" I says.
"Well I'd like to go with you, but my Daddy will be picking me up soon."

Now, just about then a terrible suspicion came over me. :doh I asked her flatly "How old are you?"

She kind of looked away and seemed reluctant to answer, but I gave her the silent stare until she finally 'fessed up. "I'm twelve."

"WellitsbeennicetomeetyabutIgottagonow," says I, turning on one heel and bolting for the door, breaking into a run as I hit the parking lot and not stopping until I was in the front seat of my '68 Cougar, which I promptly started and peeled out of the place at high speed. :scared:

Scared the living wits out of me. I would've sworn she was at least 17... but after the fact, little things that had seemed "out of place" in the way she talked and acted fit together like puzzle pieces, like an "Ah, so that explains why she didn't seem to catch my little innuendo about blah blah blah...."

Scary. She was built like a woman, and in make up and party clothes she could pretty much fool ya.

Now as for this particular case, there aren't a lot of details available but it sounds very bad. Assuming forcible rape was involved, there is NEVER any excuse for that. None.

I don't even care if she said she wanted it. This girl is eleven years old. "Consenting" or not, this was disgusting, perverse, and unjustifiable.

You guys need to ask for ID.. the bowling alley story.. heard this kind of thing before.
THIS case, though, is not like that. No innocence here or misconception anywhere. It was a kid that "put out", and they had to know. I wonder if someone was making $$$??

Your story demonstrates why it is foolish to have sex with someone you don't know well.

Or it demonstrates that the attraction can be natural, and if there weren't laws in place people would be having intimate contact with younger people.

I'm not saying I approve of it but there is a certain natural reality to be acknowledged here.

Rape culture is pervasive in our society. It's silent and destructive, except for when it occasionally makes it to the news because it's especially horrific. 1 in 3 girls are molested before age 10, usually by people they know. For boys it's 1 in 4.

Adults abuse their power all the time and it's taboo to talk about it. You even get comments that are victim blaming. The pendulum just swings the other way because people don't want to acknowledge that rape is embedded in our society and has never been ironed out of it.

I'm not saying I approve of it but there is a certain natural reality to be acknowledged with murder.

The fact that criminal acts may be motivated by naturally endowed charcteristic of human nature does nothing to absolve those who break the law. It is of no significance to the discussion, or at least I don't see how

And it is not taboo to talk about how adults abuse their power. That's just ridiculous.

....

I have trouble believing those figures. 1 in 3 girls? 1 in 4 boys?? "Molested"?

MMmmmmmm Nah... I just can't buy that, unless we're talking about some unreasonably broad definition of "molested". Seems highly improbable.

It may be inflammatory, but it's the ****ing truth. The victim was victimized again by the residents.

Dan's outrage is misplaced.

Also complicating the case was a belief by many in the predominantly black neighborhood where several of the suspects live that the arrests were racially motivated. All of the suspects are black, while the girl is Hispanic.
The girl, now 12, remains in foster care as her parents, who have health problems and moved out of Cleveland after receiving threatening phone calls, work with state child welfare authorities to get her back.

She can't "consent" at age 11 even if she wanted to..,

This quote is beyond the pale...

Well sir, let me tell you a true story.

Same for my daughter. I was right behind her. No conversation, just a drunk young male stunned by her beauty. They locked eyes for what felt like a very long time, and finally I came to my senses and said "DUDE. She's NINE." She giggled, and we went around him.
