BATON ROUGE, La., July 5 (UPI) -- Former Louisiana lawmaker and Ku Klux Klan head David Duke has begun a 25-city tour to gauge support for a possible presidential bid, The Daily Beast reported.

David Duke has run before, once as a Democrat in 1988, and once as a Republican in 1992. What party platform is he going to run on this time? May I suggest he try the Stormfront Party this time, as it's members are more open to his sick and twisted political views. Better yet, he should invent a time machine, and travel back to the 1930's, where he can proudly support Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. He certainly does not belong in the here and now, nor in America.

According to a recent poll, just to cite one example, 46% of Misissippi Republicans favor outlawing interracial marriage.

Isn't that what "Wiggen" wrote earlier? Over in Europe there are many on the hard or extreme right who have suddenly decided they love Jews and Israel but they are also the same type who a few years ago were painting swastikas on Jewish gravestones.

The one difference between some of the European hard right and US hard right is the view that the Jews are holding God's landing strip in readiness for his next visit to earth.
 
Since he runs with the "popular" party of the times, then I suspect he will run as a Tea Party candidate under the GOP banner!

I think that's more of a regional thing, than it is a political one.

Also, I need to correct you on that PPP poll you cited. It wasn't a poll taken of registered Republicans, but rather a poll taken of people who usually vote in the Republican primary. The reason that makes a difference, is because Mississippi is an "open primary" state. That means that any registered voter, including registered Democrats and registered Independents can vote in the Republican primary. Now that you understand who was actually polled, maybe this breakdown of that question will interest you:

I don't really think we know the US party affiliation of bin Laden, Napolean, Judas, much less Darth Vader, Gollum or God forbid Satan!? How did you find out the US party affiliations of all these dead or fictional characters? I mean Hitler is Facists we know that which isn't even remotely the same as Democrates, bin Laden is a Democrate? I think there's maybe a lack of truth in all these claims here.

But this aside, I am sure you will find plenty of crooked politician in both parties Dem/Rep.

Correct on all counts. The Republican Party and it's wacky off-shoot the Tea Party - are the 'Southern Strategy' 21st Century style. Still trying like mad to lock up the votes of the 'Negrophobes' (A Lee Atwater term that so accurately describes them) and succeeding.

I don't see this idiot splitting any vote. But, goody, I haven't been called a racist in a few days for liking the Tea Party and not liking Obama and supporting AZ SB1070. Not that it matters. You get immune after 3 years of non-stop bashing for being a conservative..
