I'd be willing to bet if it were the dems asking Bush meet with them to explain why they wouldnt compromise, you would be praising that Bush stood his ground and declined.

Oh the hypocrisy of the idiot right that condems Obama for not meeting with people unwilling to compromise.

We will never know that, will we? We do know that Obama had more important things to do, campaign fund raising, than to meet with Republicans. We know that Obama has zero leadership skills as do many on this thread. You can never delegate responsibility, but only can delegate authority. The results generated by Obama are his and his alone, No President in modern history has ever had 14.7 million unemployed Americans two years after the end of a recession nor has any U.S. President ever added 4 trillion to the debt in less than 3 years. That is the Obama record which of course the Obama cult ignores.

What did I say? I said that if time is of the essence, Obama needs to be there. It's a waste to pass a bill in Congress that Obama is just going to veto.

But I guess that even the rightwing posters know that the republicans can't solve this problem without help from Obama. That's why they are vocally yearning for Obama to do more.

Then tell us what his job is, playing golf, running for re-election, taking vacations? Sounds to me like he loves being President but doesn't have a clue what it means to be President and what is his job.

Doesn't look like it, read the posts on this thread. The job of the President is to lead, not delegate responsibility to someone else. This is what Obama has accomplished

What is it about the liberal ideology that creates such loyalty that even flies in the face of actual facts? Explain to me why you never hold Democrats to the same standard as Republicans? If any Republican had the following results would you have been as forgiving?

Under bush* budgets, unemployment DOUBLED

Under bush* unemployment went from 7.1% to 14% - almost double
Since Obamas' budget has taken effect, unemployment has decreased

It was 17% under bush*'s budget. Obamas policies have reduced unemployment, which beats bush*'s record of increasing unemployment

You don't get it and never will. Raising the debt ceiling is about spending money and since we have a spending problem and not a revenue problem all that limit does is give the President more money to spend. That is wrong for American thus the House got it right.

They love percentage change when it suits them but ignore it was the Democrat Congress that helped generate those results. U-6 unemployment went to 8.8 by December 2007. Liberals don't want to talk about what Democrats did in 2008 and how Obama was part of that.

So tell me what were the Democrats doing in 2008 with total control of the Congress? U-6 in December 2007 was 8.8%. so it went from 8.8% to 14.1% with Democrat control of Congress. Were they working hard to regain the WH and sabotaging the economy? What part did Geithner and Summers have in TARP?
