New York lawmakers to vote on gay marriage within hours

Personally, I am against gay-marriage.

But morally, I simply cannot stare into the face of two men or two women who love each other and are committed to each other, and tell them that their love and commitment is not as true as if they were a straight couple.

Funny how I am kinda against what was done today..but still very proud of my state.

:)

Once again, the State of New York leads the way.

:)

though, what's stopping hotels, motels, bands, wedding halls, etc etc...from declaring themselves "religious institutions", so they don't have to cater to same-sex couples?

... the same thing that prevents them from doing it now. Not being assholes and wanting to get more money. Gay people could already hold a marriage ceremony at any location that would take them. By the way, a hotel can say no to a straight couple too.

Stupid porn...

Syntax error.

Congratulations everybody!

Awesome!

I can't find the bill. Has it been published?

America just got a little more free and a little closer to living up to its promise of liberty and justice for ALL.

I add my own cheers and congratulations on this! Of course, I cheered when California passed SSM years ago... and look what happened. Fingers crossed that this law sticks!
