McCain blames some Arizona wildfires on illegal immigrants - CNN.com

(CNN) -- U.S. Sen. John McCain is blaming illegal immigrants for starting some of the wildfires that have scorched hundreds of thousands of acres in Arizona.

"There is substantial evidence that some of these fires have been caused by people who have crossed our border illegally," McCain, R-Arizona, said Saturday at a press conference. "The answer to that part of the problem is to get a secure border."

The Arizona senator, however, did not say what the evidence is, prompting a swift rebuke from Latino civil rights advocates.

i would be curious to see what this evidence is...i'm no fan of illegals, but i need to see proof.

Certainly sounds like a reasonable assumption.

Remember folks...never trust a politician, unless they are saying what you want to believe is true.

It is plausible that illegals could have sparked at least some of the wildfires, but how do we know?

Is the new McCain now against illegal immigration? What happened to the old McCain who favored amnesty?

McCain is sadly not that far away from a one way trip to the drool farm. Crap comes into his brain and he believes it and worse he repeats it. Worse still, a large number of suckers, dummies and fools believe his unfounded babble and worship him for "telling it like it is", regardless of the fact that McCain has no idea WTF he is talking about or for that matter what day of the week it is. Worst of all, slow learners who are influenced by McCain dribble will not take a second to verify anything he says.

This would be no surprise as they are responsible for a great deal of damage all over the Nation incuding fires in the back country.

"Great deal"? How much is a "great deal"?

Want to pony up documentation for your allegations?

Illegals should tie weights to thier ankles and jump into a deep hole in the Rio Grande. It would be good for my country if they commited suicide.

The fire at Griffith Park a few years ago was started by a family from Illinois. The kids were playing with fireworks in August. And Griffith Park is in Los Angeles. Which hadn't seen rain since March.

Goddamn Illinoisans.

Personally, I think this country would be better if all selfish assholes committed suicide, but that's just me.

Brilliant! You probably wonder why you never made it beyond E-5 after 20 years.

Are you saying yankees started that fire. They were probably Obama supporters from Chicago. I wonder if they hung themselfs with piano wire after they realized what they had done.

It's funny you say that. I voted for Obama and I simply can't stop starting fires.

Hooray, you got your hate back! Is it focused on illegals this time, or are you back to hating muslims, too?

Maybe some wild fires were started by illegals - on accident or on purpose . . . yeah sure, not that big of a deal to say that might be a case every now and then.

But many smokers start fires.
Homeless people start fires, too.

Yet when people bring those things up for/against support of various measures or steps they're laughed down and mocked. . . though I've never actually heard of anyone saying "homeless people cause fires - we need to end homelessness to avoid this."

Yes TED I hate people who disregard my countries sovereignty by entering it illegally and then demand rights. I also hate people whos idology teaches them to kill convert or subjugate those who do not believe in thier idology. I hate people who use thier religion to justify waging holy war against the country I love. What I have been trying to understand is how people like you support these people.

See, I knew the change of heart you supposedly had before was nothing more than thinly veiled sarcasm. It's nice to have my favorite bigot back.

I don't support illegal aliens or those who would do violence against us for any reason. I simply refuse to see the world as black-and-white as you do, and I refuse to be blind to the causes of illegal immigration or extremism.
