This took place at a Republican Leadership Conference

A sampling of the racial jokes:

• On Black History Month: “Michelle celebrates the full month. I celebrate half.”

• “My mother loved a black man,” but “she was not a Kardashian.”

• A picture was shown of Obama and the first lady when he took office. The impersonator then showed a picture of what the Obamas will look like when the president leaves office, and it was the characters of Fred Sanford and his sister-in-law, Ethel, from the show “Sanford and Son.”

Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gathering - 44 - The Washington Post

The audience loved it!!!

It's a shame they didn't let the guy finish. He was fairly funny. I understand why they pulled him though, even if I don't agree with it.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I thought he was pretty funny.

If I wasn't sober, I would have sworn that he was Obama

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I guess we missed the bad part then?

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I don't see anything wrong with anything he said. Mentioning race is not the same thing as being racially insensitive or racist.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

That was actually quite funny. Don't know about the part with George Washington and Barbara Bush though.

Voice was right on.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

Reading the comments to the article (through the link) some people seem completely shocked at any sort of jokes like this - **** man - I've heard nothing BUT endless jokes about Bush and everyone else from all sides - and the middle.

Obama gets some bubble wrap because he's black

Funny as hell, no different than Ralphie May or Redd Foxx - but not appropriate for the venue.

Whats your point Pete?

Damned liberals always being overly politically cor-

Oh.

Funny stuff... at a comedy club. Not sure it belongs at the "Leadership" Conference of any party.

Maybe, but at the same time it wasn't anything really that bad.

It was a damn good impersonation, but terrible jokes. However, you have to be looking to be offended to be offended by them. I just didn't find them at all funny.

I don't think the video shows the parts that caused the RLC President to pull the guy off stage. Not saying it was bad, just saying there's a time and place for this sort of stuff.

I agree that there is a time and a place. And for the sake of the person that pulled them I hope it got worse, because while the jokes weren't all the great, there wasn't anything wrong with them either. I mean the only thing I could possible see a problem with out of the clip was the Black history month part and even then it is a stretch.

No sense of humor. :)

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

This guy was lot funnier than the real Obama.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

Comedy in the GOP consists of calling Obama the "Magic Negro" and portrayals of him as a monkey by out of work right wing cartoonists.

It was the GOP leadership that gave the guy the hook, so they saw something they didn't like in his routine.

A phrase coined by a liberal columnist for the LA Times....You really are being dishonest here.

No, I think you were trying to paint conservatives as racist.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I didn't really find his jokes particularly funny. However, his impression of Obama was pretty damn impressive.

No, YOUR party did that. Get your facts straight.
