As a retired Radio Reporter and Talk Show Host, I can tell you this is very welcome news and will insure that Conservative Talk Radio continues to bring you the truth you know in your heart you never get from Liberals and that id why Liberals fail in such large numbers.

I am truly happy that I will not have to listen to Conservative talk shows interrupted by empty headed dolts on the left.

FCC Agrees to Take 'Fairness Doctrine' Off the Books - FoxNews.com

Under GOP pressure, the Federal Communications Commission has agreed to strike from its books an outdated yet still controversial regulation of political speech on the airwaves known as the Fairness Doctrine.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said in a letter to a House Republican leader this week that the agency's effort to identify and eliminate "antiquated and outmoded rules that unnecessarily burden business, stifle investment and innovation, or confuse consumers and licensees" will include a recommendation to delete the Fairness Doctrine.

While I'm against the fairness doctrine...

That is some pretty opinionated stuff right there :lamo

Pretty much a complete and total nonstory. The Fairness Doctrine has been dead for some time, with no chance of coming back.

If liberals don't do well in large numbers, what is this about the "liberal" media we keep hearing about :lamo

"Liberal media" is certain conservatives trying to play the victim card.

The state run media? They are nothing. They have lost most of their market to Fox news, the Internet and the Daily Show. Except for the tidbits the Regime hands them daily, it is not very likely they would find anything to talk about.

The state runs the media now?

Did I sleep through something?

You did not know that since Obama was elected, the "S" in USA stands for "Socialist"?

The collective leap to insanity the right took in November 2008?

In my view, the left and the right took a leap to insanity sometime around 1996.

I pride myself on being very opinionated.

I have read the facts. No one has seriously moved to re-implement the fairness doctrine, and Obama is absolutely opposed to it being implemented.

It's not state run, but it is in Obama's pocket. Shoot, they've as much as admitted it, and folks still don't believe it. LOL

Did you know that paranoia may destroy ya?

just because someone is paranoid does not mean everyone isn't out to get them. Just look in the conspiracy theory threads :ninja:

Thats very different than state run though.

I remember a really good article that came out after the 2008 election. It was by a journalist (not a right wing one, mind you) that admitted the coverage was not fair during the election. The bias is obvious, but less so, I guess, when you agree with it.
