An Obama appointee who played a central role in crafting the 2010 health care bill has cashed out to a well-connected lobbying firm, where her first clients are two of the bill's beneficiaries: abortion provider Planned Parenthood and a hospital chain.
Liz Engel was deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services. Today she is a managing director at the Glover Park Group in the health and wellness practice. Her story further highlights the coziness of this administration with the abortion industry, and also undermines President Obama's portrayal of the health care bill as a broadside against special interests.

Most importantly, Engel's spin through the revolving door shows the emptiness of the new ethics rules that the White House brags about at every opportunity.

Working for TWO non-profit health organizations? The special interests win again! She's probably pulling in thousands while people get cheap medical care. Disgraceful.

Being non profit does not make it the holy angel of light.
Non profits, can and typically do turn a profit.

Oh. I thought nonprofit organizations sit with God in heaven where they pour their surplus funds onto our streets.
 
Wasn't this one a Bush administration holdover or am I thinking of a different high-ranked official who recently jumped over to a cushy private sector job working for the same company they just handed a gazillion dollars to?

edit: Nevermind, that was an FCC person I think.

I hate how this happens so often now that it's barely even memorable or newsworthy.

Quote of the day. This crap happens on both sides of the aisle, and I will be the first to say, it's neither party more than the other. No one cares anymore because this is so common.

That would be, and is a true enough statement, if it weren't for the promises made by 'The One' to get elected....Chaulk it up as just another lie.....
