OK, I had a few revisions on the cover and so far this is what the designers gave me.

and here is the blurb:

New Bali is a swamp world located 20 light-years from Earth. Colonized by humans almost two hundred years before, the planet is also home to an intelligent, methane-breathing race of amphibians. The natives have a unique culture that precludes war and vengeance, but recent events have begun to unravel a once fragile peace.

As tensions mount, a select few individuals will determine the fate of this strange, untamed world: Sophie Singh, heir to a vast conglomerate that virtually controls the entire planet, must decide whether to retain her family's power at all costs or commit to long term reforms for the benefit of all. Brother Moises Borbon, a Jesuit researcher, races against time to unlock the true meaning behind the Talk, an alien art form that is the key to ultimately communicating with the native sentients.

The first book of an epic trilogy providing a special blend of war, culture, religion, and sociopolitical change, Wetworld promises to be a unique reading experience for all science-fiction fans.

Now, the question is, after reading this and looking at the cover, would you buy this is you were a sci-fi fan?

I would leave "Book 1" out.

No sense pitching "Book 2" until "book 1" is out. It's not a trilogy until you write the third book.

I don't like the "eyeball" things mid page right. It draws your attention, as if it wants to be the "star" of the page.

Glad to see your writing is taking off. The cover artist you have is pretty good. The cover seems appropriate for the coming story.

As for the blurb, less may be more at least for me at first instinct in this case with what is currently written. I would go with the first sentence and put this (...........) behind it what ever you professional writers call it. The rest just feels like filler. Nothing wrong with it per say just extra and not really needed. Also are they at peace now, or are we in the middle of something decidedly unpeaceful? Rephrasing the last to this ( unravel a fragile peace........ ) may work better. I have found that I like blurbs that are short sweet give a quick synopsis of the current of the universe we may be entertaining ourselves with and leave me wondering "What's going on?" are the ones that hook me especially if they are the start of a new series of books. That and the cliffhanger I am a sucker for. These are just a couple of observations and are not any way professional advise. It is given freely and worth just as much. However if you get a movie deal based on this advise, I want a cut.

Oh those "eyeballs" are supposed to be an alien plant thingy.

The cover would definitely make me interested in the book. I don't know if I should have voted differently, because I do find it interesting, but the blurb was a little confusing to me. After re-reading it a few times I feel like the sentence describing Sophie Singh was just a lot of story packed into that one sentence. If this was in a store the cover would make me read the blurb, and the blurb would make me read the first page or so. It makes me want to know more about it.

Completely agree with Book One comment.

Only other comment is your synopsis. I’m a sci-fi fan. I like action. Your synopsis, POS, comes off a too cerebral to me.

Alien...the story of space explorers who find they’ve been awakened mid-hibernation to deal with a deadly alien who threatens life as we know it.

Alien..the life and death struggles of a space team as they try desperately to defeat the most deadly creature in the universe.

Such a poor example and off the cuff word vomit, but I think you may understand what I’m trying to say.

And congrats!!

Yes, I would/will ;). I do feel the blurb isn't bad or anything, but a little long. My own taste, but I tend to skim over character descriptions.

LOL Well I have written and published 3 other trilogies, so unless I get shot or something, there is a big possibility I will finish the series. ;)

LOL Its not meant to be an action oriented sci-fi book, its more sociopolitical than anything else, though there are action scenes in it. I tried my best to come up with real aliens with distinct personalities instead of just men with pointy-ears, I hope it does well.
