Sean Hannity and wife divorce after more than 20 years of marriage

This is coming from a guy who calls Hannity a horrible person because you don't like the fact that he doesn't buy into your political views/ Mesabi range level Irony

My criticizing Hannity does not make slurs okay.

Someone actually married that piece of ****?

I never wrote that they kept it from their kids.

But they did live a lie, pretending to be married when they weren't. You said it was for their kids sake. That it was admirable. They were living a lie. That was admirable to you.

monumentally stupid no matter who says it.

Make sure to voice your opinion the next time a conservative Trump supporter uses it here, okay?

Fox has always been there to fork out money to hide the embarrassments of their hosts. Rapey men like Bill O'Reilly and Charles Payne owe Fox a big debt for bailing their asses out.

That's going a little far. Sean didn't rape anybody. He just got a divorce. I really don't see what all the drama is about. Of course he kept it secret. Which is weird, but not criminal. His kids will have to deal with the fact that their parents lived a lie for four years, but much worse things have happened to kids. I'm sure they'll be able to deal. They're old enough to know that parents do stupid stuff, just like everybody else. There might be trust issues in their futures though.

If they have kids, I hope everything is amicable and they can all find peace and move forward. Divorces suck.

Same. There aren't "good" divorce stories.

Fox has always been good at hiding embarrassing things about its moneymakers.

If you take into context what my reply was to another comment, you will see that I have never suggested that Sean Hannity raped anyone. What I DID say is that Fox hides all the dirt when one of their moneymaking hosts is the cause of that dirt. Fox is famous for paying hush money and NDA's. But Fox is a misogynist company, everyone knows that. It's changed very little from the days of Roger Ailes. Donny Jr's girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle was terminated for showing other cast members dick pics of Don's 'member'. Fox fired her for 'sexual harassment'. But it didn't bother Kimberly because she had Donny to give her a nice position within the Trump enclave working in a pro-Trump PAC.

Keeping their business to themselves is not living a lie.

Even though he's a disgusting animal, it's sad. Best case scenario was she teaches him how to be a human being. Some people only a Savior could save.
That's how one proves that they can't be taken seriously.

Not to mention Roger Ailes.

Keeping it private for their kids' sake is admirable.
We don't know the motivators. But I respect that as a couple they were able to do it. Not many can.

I really do have this thing for those that consistently do the regular things in their every-day otherwise prosaic lives, for noble reasons. A 'working-class hero' thing. The greatness of doing the prosaic but right things, every day without fail for your family. My pops always told me the hardest but most satisfying thing, is to get up every morning, get dressed, and go out to work for your wife & kids. Every day, without fail, without complaint. It's what he did, and it took me many years to see the greatness in it; but I did!

Yes, will never know the motivator. But even if it was the less altruistic motivator of money & legal contract, it still had the positive effect of keeping the family out of the limelight. And that's a good thing.

I don't think it's weird at all, given the circumstances. Being polarizing public figures, they may have decided to protect themselves, including their children, from the media & personal intrusion into their lives. I can respect that.

Also, assuming the kids didn't know about it might be an invalid assumption. Not telling the public does not imply not telling the children.

I never made that assumption. The kids watched their parents live a lie for 4 years. That could have an effect on them. If they had just been open about their marital status at the beginning, there might have been a fuss for a week or two and that would have been the end of it. Trump was already hogging the spotlight at the time. Nobody really cares if someone gets a divorce. As I've said before, this isn't 1950.

It's a matter of opinion, and I respectfully disagree. If they decided it was best for them as a family to avoid the public scrutiny until the kids got older, then I respect their wishes.
