Joe Biden's verbal gaffes might not be what you think

We all know the news media does not care enough about accuracy to include the full context and reasons for what happened in their reporting. One example is Joe Biden repeatedly being rumored to have an "obvious cognitive decline" based on nothing but gaffes in his speeches on the campaign trail. While this suspicion is totally understandable, it is only an assumption people who never knew him make, so the claims are unjustified. An article in Washington Monthly explains why.

The Disinformation Campaign Being Launched Against Biden | Washington Monthly

I can’t imagine the DNC allowing Biden and trying to “prove away” his obvious dementia.

It is only about one topic--Biden's inadequacies.

There is a first time for everything. However, saying Trump has no class is simply mistaken.

Next to trump....biden is einstein

trump is an ass with no class. You’ve never heard anyone accuse this ass of having class.

Yeah, I guess to some this is classy.

During yesterday's White House press briefing, a reporter asked Donald Trump about the economic stimulus package that's pending on Capitol Hill and the possible benefits for his private-sector enterprise: "Will you commit publicly that none of that taxpayer money will go towards your own personal properties?"

The president didn't answer directly, choosing instead to complain about how under-appreciated he is.

"Any time I do it, for instance, I committed publicly that I wouldn't take the $450,000 salary. It's a lot of money. Whether you're rich or not, it's a lot of money. And I did it. Nobody cared. Nobody said, 'Thank you.' Nobody said, 'Thank you very much.' Now, I didn't commit legally. I just said, 'I don't want it. I don't want my salary. I work for zero. I don't want my salary.' Nobody said, 'Oh thank you very much.' But I guarantee you if I ever took it, you would go out after me, you in particular, would go out after me like crazy."

It's all about ME!! ME!! ME!! ME!!

Throw the skunk out with the rest of the sewage!

You know for a fact the topic of this thread is very specific about two problems Joe Biden has - neither of them being how classy he is - and that no unrelated topics belong here.

Do you have anything to say about the article?

Stuttering is not just repeating sounds and syllables. Stutterers also can have speech "bocks" - moments htey want to say something but can't or know they are going to stutter and prevent it by not talking.

I have no idea what video you are talking about. There is only a still picture on that page.

Stuttering also isn't just B..B..B..B..But.

They come to a word that they just can't say and quickly pick another to insert in it's place. That's why they'll have unusual pauses in their speech.

Biden been doing it for a while and is pretty good at it. Another is George Springer, outfielder for the Houston Astros, although younger he does a good job of it as well.

Examples:

One stutterer who watched a debate wrote he started lying about where he lives because of his inability to say Connecticut without C-c-c- c. If only he really did live in New York.
Having a stutter is why some people say "uh" or "um" in the middle of sentences. They know it is going to happen. Some stutterers say the universal "huh" at weird times instead.
Joe Biden squiched his eyes shut during debates. From what I have read, he is not alone. It is another symptom of stuttering. There are variations of "facial tics" some people use.

Another famous athlete who stutters (now retired) is running back Darren Sproles, who played for the Chargers, Saints, and Eagles. Stutterers praised him for talking to the media after scoring the winning touchdown in a playoff game with the Chargers. He majored in speech/language pathology.

Stuttering starts early in childhood. Joe Biden is in the minority as someone who did not "outgrow" the problem.

You obviously did not read the article I posted.

Actually, i breezed through it. I believe he is slipping and would be a figurehead if he ran and won, and his mental state is fair game. Look what people call Trump on a daily basis.

Its cruel to Biden, unfair to the country, and malpractice to put a person who is obviously going senile at the head of our government. As a citizens, we would have no idea who is making decisions about war, peace, and economics.

This is right out of a Tom Clancy book.

We must get trump out of office. He does not even know where he is at times. He is mentally incapacitated

Given that Einstein has been dead for decades, that isn't a bad comparison.

Biden is less fit to be President than Donald Trump. It isn't close. Any explanation for his apparent early stage senility is beside the point.

Trump gets very confused at times. He does something called confabulation which is he gets confused and mixes up 2 different things. He also does not seem to know where he is at times.

You might have a point if Trump had not already established that he is competent, by doing a very good job of running the country.

The article explains why we should not assume Joe Biden is going senile and make such a claim. There is no reason to doubt his memory has gone downhill, but using the words senile and dementia is wrong for Biden. None of us know how much memory he lost or if stutterers are right about some mistakes Biden made. If Biden tells people, "I made some mistakes," nobody has a right to judge him. If other stutterers point out what sounds to us like memory loss is not that at all, why should we assume they are wrong?

I have no idea what Tom Clancy has to do with this.

Why are you posting obvious lies just to disrupt my thread? You know as well as everyone else IT IS NOT ABOUT TRUMP! Either discuss the article or stop posting.

Did anyone actually read the article slowly enough to think about the paragraphs?

Sorry, no sale. Biden may not be diagnosable, but he is certifiable.
