    John Kelly Calls Out Fox

    Quote for the ages:

“That said, you have to be careful about what you are watching and reading, because the media has taken sides,” he continued. “So if you only watch Fox News because it's reinforcing what you believe, you are not an informed citizen."

But, this is the one which really matters:

“The media, in my view, and I feel very strongly about this, is not the enemy of the people,” Kelly said. “We need a free media."

Is Fox News not part of the free media? Does Kelly actually believe that MSNBC is better or did he do what he accused Fox News of doing?

So if you only watch MSNBC or CNN you are a brilliantly informed citizen? What a cock of S***!

The media has shown it's self to be a very partisan/biased active participant to remove the president from office.
    And we all know that!
Attorney General William Barr: “The fact of the matter is that, in waging a scorched earth, no-holds-barred war of 'Resistance' against this Administration,
it is the Left that is engaged in the systematic shredding of norms and the undermining of the rule of law.”

Yes, MSNBC is better than Fox. The collective IQ of those watching Fox is probably 1/4 that of a single Maddow viewer.

Good for General Kelly. I’m glad he’s speaking out. I hope General Mattis follows suit.

That’s not what General Kelly said. Why make things up?

Fox News is “the media” and they are not trying to remove Trump. In fact, Fox is very biased toward Trump. So much so that the Press Secretary of the POTUS doesn’t have news briefs any more, she just goes on Fox News. The President himself calls them regularly to voice his opinions on Fox and no one else. Why do you think that is?

**** Kelly! This is one time when “better late than never” just doesn’t get it done. It’s my understanding that these remarks come in paid speeches.

Yes, Fox is part of the media, the infamous MSM. He didn’t say any was better.

All he was saying was to not to rely upon single source information if you want to stay informed.

The article spells it out. Example:

“That said, you have to be careful about what you are watching and reading, because the media has taken sides,” he continued. “So if you only watch Fox News because it's reinforcing what you believe, you are not an informed citizen."

Trump, of course, watches Fox News almost exclusively and for precisely the reason Kelly suggests: It reinforces what he believes. There are some exceptions; Trump has been irritated when Fox occasionally interviews Democratic lawmakers or candidates. But generally speaking, Trump consumes and promotes Fox News programming.

    He didn’t say that.

But Fox’s reputation for sloppy and irresponsible journalism and it’s open political bias, it’s tendancy to market to their viewer’s prejudices rather than inform them, is not a matter of much debate. Roger Ailes actually said that he intended Fox to be right wing talk radio with pictures. And that’s what it is, and always has been.

And, as with the Bush Administration, Fox functions as a full blown Ministry of Propoganda for the Trump Administration.

Before you attack MSNBC for doing the same thing, know that MSNBC only adopted the Fox business model for liberal about ten years after Fox premiered.

    Kelly is right.

Since cable TV has largely split into left and right, in the same manner as big city daily newspapers once did,it’s important to hear as much as possible, even the stuff that doesn’t make one comfortable.

When I was growing up, we got both the daily’s. The morning paper was the liberal one, and the afternoon paper was Hearst.
