In case anyone has forgetten, this is what real journalism looks like.

Journalism is almost never practiced anymore, because our elites tend to pale in comparison to those who came before us who were generally builders of civilization. These MODERN MORONS of today have no intention of building (far too much work for one thing) , they are destroyers of civilization, by choice, which makes them Evil.

This comment tells me that you know nothing about the media in the 19th and early 20 centuries.

The link provided goes to the website of The Independent, a BRITISH newspaper and one that is seen by the English as centrist. Brits on the left and the right see the whole kerfuffle between Trump and Ukraine as a "scandal".. Sorry if that hurts your little fee-fees.

"dstroying the nation"? Yeah, and that's why the DoJ says the neo-Nazi, white nationalists supporting Trump are now as dangerous as ISIS - because the "left" is destroying the nation.

LOL why would that hurt my feelings when I know you are wrong?

Yes, you guys are all traitors for the most part and should be dealt with accordingly. Want your socialist utopia? Move to North Korea.

Shokin was supposed to be doing these investigations, but wasn't. They had been all but stopped dead because Shokin was PART of the very corruption he was supposedly investigating. That's why the IMF, EU and USA refused to provide any further loan guarantees or aid to Ukraine. It was only after Shokin was fired did those investigations commence again.

I've searched for information on the ongoing investigation(s) in Ukraine to fight corruption and I can't find anything.

Do you have links that indicate that there were any steps at all initiated by the Ukrainians to investigate Burisma corruption starting after Shokin was terminated?

All of the links I can find indicate that the ongoing investigations are limited to occurrences during the time period BEFORE Biden Jr. was hired by Burisma.

Timeline: Key dates in the U.S. political controversy over Ukraine - Reuters

The following timeline details key moments in the Biden family’s involvement in Ukrainian affairs and Trump’s effort to use those actions as political ammunition.

April 21, 2014: Biden, then vice president, visited Ukraine’s capital, Kiev, in a show of support for the country’s government amid rising tensions with Russia.

May 13, 2014: Burisma Group, a private company that has drilled for natural gas in Ukraine since 2002, announced that Hunter Biden would be joining its board. Around that time, Burisma’s founder, a former government official named Mykola Zlochevsky, was under investigation for alleged money laundering by Britain’s Serious Fraud Office.

Dec. 8, 2015: Biden visited Kiev again and spoke out against bureaucratic corruption that he said was eating Ukraine “like a cancer.” Biden threatened to withhold loan guarantees unless Ukraine’s top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who had been widely accused of corruption, was removed.

Shokin had investigated Burisma but the probe was dormant at the time Biden pushed for the prosecutor’s termination, Bloomberg reported earlier this year, citing a former Ukrainian official.

March 29, 2016: The Ukrainian Parliament voted to remove Shokin.

Jan. 23, 2018: Biden, at a Council on Foreign Relations event, detailed how he had threatened to withhold funds from Ukraine if Shokin was not removed.

April 2019: Hunter Biden’s term as a Burisma board member expired and he stepped down from the company.

May 16, 2019: Bloomberg quotes Ukraine’s current top prosecutor as saying he had no evidence of wrongdoing by Hunter Biden or his father.

May 11, 2019: Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said he was canceling a planned trip to Ukraine. Giuliani came under criticism from Democratic lawmakers after saying in media interviews that he had planned to meet with Ukraine’s new leaders and push for investigations that could help Trump.

July 25, 2019: Trump spoke with Zelenskiy and reportedly pressured him to investigate Hunter Biden.

Aug. 12, 2019: A whistleblower from within the intelligence community lodged a complaint with a internal watchdog that reportedly focused on Trump’s contacts with Ukraine.

So, then, you are also unable to find anything indicating that there were any investigations into Burisma AFTER Shokin was fired.

Do you find it at all interesting that the probe "was dormant" at the time of the firing of Shokin which post dates Biden jr. being hired?

As I've tried to find stuff on this, out seems like everyone who reports that the investigation was "dormant" sources that tid bit to Bloomberg.

The questions regarding the pay for play schemes revolve around the hiring of Biden Jr. and the apparently concurrent ending of the investigations.

There is little if any evidence that the investigation(s) continued, under the guidance of Shokin or anyone else, AFTER Biden Jr. was hired by Burisma and none at all that investigations were accelerated after Shokin was fired.

Yes, you guys are all traitors for the most part and should be dealt with accordingly. Want your socialist utopia? Move to North Korea.

Denial of reality appears to be your only response - have fun in your bubble.

I see where you're going with this, but don't you think you're grasping for straws?

The poster to whom I responded implied that AFTER Shokin was fired, the investigation picked up speed and direction. It did not.

That is all I was trying to demonstrate.

There was an investigation before Biden Jr, was hired by Burisma. There was no investigation afterward regardless of who the prosecutor was who was being restrained.

The single source for this also seems to be Bloomberg. Any story with a single source, regardless of what source that is, is troubling for me.

100 stories all quoting the same source is still only one source.
