Trump floats idea of his own news network to counter CNN

Bias in the news would be extreme under Trump to the point of entertainment. That would be how his news would differentiate from Fox, and be in direct competition as a like-conservative alternative but entertaining. A predictable venture given Trump loses reelection. I think, IMO, it would be great. Trump will not go away quietly. How much louder can you get than your own news org saying only what you want? All those defectors from Fox news going to TrumpNooz. What a gas.

The question then becomes -- How does Trump News Network get out there? Internet-only or spend a few dollars to get into the satellite feed? OR go around the country and buy local TV stations? Which might cost a few more dollars.

It’s a good question, the fake news/enemy of the people has been compromised for a long time.

Except they are not the enemy of the people.

But it seems a certain fringe element of society thinks that be the case.

The news people report the news.
24/7 reality tv caters to their audience.

Considering PBS gets a lot of funding from the government, Trump's idea of creating his own network is not a bad idea. It doesn't even have to be a political show.

Summary
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) receives its funding through federal
appropriations; overall, about 15% of public television and 10% of radio broadcasting funding
comes from the federal appropriations that CPB distributes.

Here's a paper on PBS funding from the gov't.

1 per cent of PBS funding comes from the feds

Not according to this. Although, higher than I thought.

Democrats and liberals are not good with math. They claim it is a small number but when Republicans request to pull that funding they fight like dogs to keep that funding.

Looks like you're correct and I was wrong.

1. I voted for Candidate Trump and plan to vote for President Trump in November.

2. Win or lose, I hope that Mr. Trump does NOT start another cable news network.

3. FOX is about the best that he can expect.

4. Starting a new network would be a waste of money and effort. It would be a failure. Most people (including me) do NOT want a news network devoted to how wonderful President Trump is. That is not news.

5. If he loses in November, former president Trump should do what he does best: Fly around the country to raise the spirits of his supporters as the Dems take over the White House. He should spend his time helping to get Republicans elected at the local, state, and national level. He is NOT a boring speaker.

In fact I find it very boring listening to an ignorant fool standing before a large crowd demonstrating his shocking ignorance in so many areas. Boring! Watching Trump is like watching the Ricki Lake show that my teenage daughters insisted on watching back in the 1990's I used to ask them, why do you want to listen to a bunch of stupid people pontificating on whether it's okay to have sex with your grandmother or not. Trump is so stupid that he doesn't even know that the military is not turning out new Sherman tanks that wonderfull WWII era death trap has been out of service since 1957.I suspect many people watch Trump for the same reason my daughters watched Ricki Lake, listening someone really stupid make them feel superior.

A bit of apples and oranges as CPB, PBS and NPR are different, albeit related, entities. I admit that, although the report is informative, and only about three years out of date, it is a bit confusing tracking who is funding what.

For PBS, despite claims that the Feds fund most, much, a lot, etc of PBS funding, 84.3% of funding is non-federal. As the linked report proves, the Republican Congress continues to attack CPB, PBS and NPR funding just like they do abortion rights and just like the Democrats attack gun rights. It's sad since PBS provides many educational shows and good family entertainment.

It's not so much the lies but what seems to me to be an ever increasing problem of coherent speech - others have noticed this also

and finally, something totally biased without fear of offending Trump supporters - because it will

Something has always been Neurologically wrong with Donald Trump. His brain never developed past 12-13 yrs old. Do you think for a moment he would have been as successful as he is without his dads help? Hell no.

I think the reason he struggles when giving important speeches is he cant read properly. He doesn't prepare properly because he has ADD or more likely he just doesn't give a hoot.

IMO, PBS/NPR are the most informative on issues.
Do they lean left? Perhaps, but that would be because more of the country leans left. Whatever left actually means.

But since they need pvt donors for a majority of funding, they likely run programming similar to donors expectations.
But since R congress also is part of funding, they still need to be as non biased as possible.

Think about it for a second. What does lean left actually mean? Does it mean that PBS and NPR outright favour/cheerlead Democrats or is it they give voice to issues of compassion, anti-war, social issues, etc?

I don't know what left actually means.
But I've never heard them favor/cheer D's.
I often hear R congress people on my local public radio.

I agree. So why do people think they lean left?

PS. Just "got" your moniker. Clever. ;)

Are you aware that your website's name is biased? Is that were people go to be informed properly???

Of course they're biased. So is every other political website.

Don't you think a government Trump network would be biased, as well?

Maybe you missed the part of my post where I said this: "If people want an alternative to the Trump hating multimedia echo chamber..."

Tweet News? I think he'd want full facial exposure. It doesn't matter the cost as long as it doesn't cost Him a nickel. He has to make money w/o risking any. That's how he rolls. Hence why he couldn't get bank loans because he was a lousy risk and had to swing a mob deal with Duetsche Bank. Never play with your own money.
