This is why so many of us no longer take CNN seriously.

I'm fine with opinion shows. I have no problem with opinion shows that present cases I don't agree with. Heck, I'm a free speech kind of guy and if you want to be a blithering idiot on TV then knock yourself out.

But, as a business owner, I'd be a little concerned that garbage like this on my network was limiting my audience rather than expanding it. Anyway, that kind of dismissive garbage is a really big part of what put Trump in the White House and it's likely to do so again.

Ya think they realize they confirmed the opinions they were ridiculing?

I agree.

IMO personal attacks, presumptions of corrupt motivations, appeals to emotion, denigrating humor, and all sorts of other fallacious moral panic activities which deflect from dealing with facts in favor of scapegoating opponents are the meat and potatoes of most "Leftist" responses.

What’s the specific critique? I don’t get it.

The specific critique was in the lines I wrote below the video. If you don't get it that may be because you failed to read them.

You don't get that discussing the demeaning of the reporter by Pompeo as being inappropriate while doing exactly that to demean Trump is bound to be seen as hypocritical and uber-partisan?

I won’t bother trying to find a gif of an exploding irony meter.............:boom:

Will you be in Wildwood this evening?

I watched the video and also read your ‘critique’. Your critique appears to be that because they’re mocking and dismissing Pompeo’s evaluation of the American people (that they don’t care about Ukraine and couldn’t find it on a map) that this does a discredit to CNN? Do I have you right?

Who's the guy with the bat-ears. I've seen him around.

Please. This is what gets righties outraged?

Nope, this is how blind, deaf and dumb some folks are to partisan hackery being presented as "news coverage" on CNN. Apparently some believe that only Fox News does this type of thing. BTW, why did you decide that I was "outraged" by simply pointing out what was being done in the OP's brief video?

Oh please you just described all of what trump had done and you still support him so stop acting because no one is buying your hypocrisy but idiotic trump supporters.

So let me get this straight, its fine for Fox to promote this type of content all day long every day of the week but if CNN does one segment in a similar vein, the nation will rise up in retaliation and vote for Trump....I got it, makes a ton of sense.

Go watch Bret Baier, Martha McCallum, or Neil Cavuto and tell me they're not fair journalists. They are. They're about the only ones left on air in the American press. There isn't anyone, not a single show host, like those three on CNN or MSNBC.

The video is exactly why Trump's re-election is already baked in. And they know it.

And pretty much almost every Trump tweet ever.

I never understood this idea that Hillary calling some of the Trump supporters names got Trump elected because all Trump does is sit around and call people names. So by that logic, he should be making his opponent win.

Holy ****ing irony!!!!!!!!

In a country ruled by emotion rather than reason, Trump, who would deny his voters healthcare rather than laugh at them, is the perfect leader.

Hey, it ain’t fair when CNN acts like FOX...

I watch them from time to time. Bret is a right wing journalist as are the other two, they clearly point right in every segment and with every interview. Wallace is tiring of that act and is actually starting to make his father proud. As for MSNBC, the entire day is filled with wonderful hosts who understand the issues and treat their guests with respect and the issues with the proper preparation they deserve. As for CNN, its a global news network and by and large they try to report as objectively as they can. They are not the BBC but perform adequately IMHO. A Don Lemon show is much like most of the content on 24 hour news channels, it is filled with commentary and usually opinions. While not straight news reporting, they do cover events and make judgements about them. In this case, the joke was on every single Trump supporter which if any of them had any self awareness should have shamed them into apologizing for electing this horrid human being. But no, they will take any insult or innuendo made anywhere as an attack upon them personally and try to make it a basis for voting against the tide and the world. i am sorry that most of us think Trump is an imbecile and unfit for office but along with most of us, the world thinks the same way.

Lost in the rabble is that the comment was made by Rick Wilson, who is a conservative.

Wilson is definitely conservative but is also rabidly anti-Trump. Using a personal attack to augment a story about how bad personal attacks are is stupid and hypocritical no matter what your political leaning is.

This reminds me of the Republican senate getting outraged over the observation that they are helping Trump cover the facts of the impeachment case. Of course they are!
