WaPo Changes Al-Baghdadi Headline Several Times Amid 'Religious Scholar' Debacle

But the point is they WEREN'T respected. In fact we did precisely what their religion says not to do when burying a body, and we did it specifically to avoid having actual Muslims pay respect the the deceased.

I mean hell, they could have cleaned the body and said a few Muslim prayers over it before stuffing the body with bacon and feeding it to dogs and show the same "respect".

Then their bodies got more respect than they deserved. Can we agree on that?

Well, you don't get much more antithetical to Muslim burial procedures than dumping the body in the ocean. But we don't have a stomach for fighting Islamists the way they need to be fought.

Two cases in point:

1) The Gurkha story is real. A squad of Gurkha were sent on a raid into a Taliban stronghold to capture or kill a Taliban warlord. They succeeded but were severely reprimanded when they returned to camp with the warlord's head in a duffel bag as proof of mission accomplished. I guarantee that finding their leader headless had more impact on his followers than a sniper bullet. We should be send in Gurkha troops regularly to relieve Taliban of their heads, which they believe denies them the afterlife (which is why they remove the heads of hostages)

2) While being repeatedly assaulted by Taliban forces, and repelling them, a group of US Soldiers decided to burn the bodies of the dead attackers as the enemy was preparing for another assault. They were vilified in the press and reprimanded by their leadership, but it gave their attackers something to consider, since burning a body is believed in Islam to prevent you from reaching heaven. Many of these Islamists don't fear death because they believe that dying fighting the infidels means they go straight to heaven... when you deny them that the effect is profound.

I don't necessarily believe any care was given to the bodies of either men in reality, the claims were just given to placate the press and avoid scandal in the west. To the Islamists the only thing that matters is how they were buried.

Bottom line: Conservatives look for things to get upset about. That's how they spend their days.

Since you have more insight to the terrorists than I do, maybe you could expand on what you think motivates them to attack western interests.

What moves them is similar to what moves the Democrats, an arrogant ideology and a ruthless dedication in trying to achieve it.

Presuming the story is true, what is gained? The death of one more muslim, is about it.

Trump told us recently that we had crushed ISIS 100%. Presuming that to be true also, what is gained by killing one more muslim?

The claim is like the one made by the government many times over many years that the death of Pablo Escobar or (fill in a name) was going to end the drug war with victory.

Pure horse manure in both cases. Theatrics meant to advance propaganda points and an agenda, nothing more.

"Arrogant ideology" and "ruthless".....describes you more.

Thank you, that was a good explanation.

Kayla Mueller's violent torturous captivity and death has been avenged. Justice has been served. THAT is what has been gained.

Just so you know, the terrorists are religious right-wing conservatives. Progressives and liberals oppose them on ideological grounds. Conservatives oppose them because they're competition.

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't know who Kayla Mueller is.

Jesus said that revenge was his, for whatever that might be worth to you.

Justice has been served? There is a ****load of justice yet to be served, if that's the case. All those US airmen sitting at computer consoles directing drones to kill innocent people have been very successful over the years.

You can argue that all you want, yet it changes nothing about what I said. It's still about an ideology, it's ruthless and it's all about power over people's lives, much like the extremist Muslims. Your last sentence is just silly nonsense.

Extremist Muslims are right-wing religious conservatives. Period.

Well your party is acting just like them. Looks like you're having difficulty with basic concepts.

No, it looks like you're having difficulty grasping that right-wing fundamentalist conservatives act like right-wing fundamentalist conservatives. I just posted an article from an Alt Right refugee in which the White Nationalists took Sharia Law and adopted it their purpose. They called it White Sharia Law. That's because they fundamentally believe in much the same things. Women are chattel and deserve no rights, men are supreme, death to infidels, etc.

There is nothing in my ideology that is remotely analogous. You can't throw enough dirt on liberalism to make the analogy anything but laughable.

Is this lady right-wing?

Guardian Columnist Julie Bindel Says Put All Males ‘In Some Kind of Camp’ : The Other McCain

It won’t, not unless men get their act together, have their power taken from them and behave themselves. I mean, I would actually put them all in some kind of camp where they can all drive around in quad bikes, or bicycles, or white vans. I would give them a choice of vehicles to drive around with, give them no porn, they wouldn’t be able to fight – we would have wardens, of course! Women who want to see their sons or male loved ones would be able to go and visit, or take them out like a library book, and then bring them back.

I hope heterosexuality doesn’t survive, actually. I would like to see a truce on heterosexuality. I would like an amnesty on heterosexuality until we have sorted ourselves out. Because under patriarchy it’s sh–.
And I am sick of hearing from individual women that their men are all right. Those men have been shored up by the advantages of patriarchy and they are complacent, they are not stopping other men from being sh–.

I would love to see a women’s liberation that results in women turning away from men and saying: “when you come back as human beings, then we might look again.”

Keep in mind, you're trying to paint all of "right-wing conservatism" with the nuttery of just a few. So where does this one land?

It seems to me that religious zealots of all stripes are basically just authoritarian people. They rely on dogma and reject rational thought.

Just wow......seriously, anyone who lived through 9/11 and remembers that time period should be revolted at the direction the left has chosen to take since then. They can't decide if a brutal warlord thug who helped murder Americans is a:

A) hero
B) former stud athlete
C) scumbag

Hint: the answer is C libs!

Crazy Non News was just a bit upset since they feted al Baghdadi as a potential CNN contributor.

Fits right in with the lineup.
