Trump's Dangerous Threats Against the Media

Oh do tell what are you going to do about those enemies? Come on i want some battle plans.

I will do what I am doing. All my plans are only shared with this participating in the operation. Strict need to know. ;)

Defending and trying to excuse Trump is your issue and it's a tough nut to crack at this point innit. Impossible in fact.

My source is the Washington Post which is MSM.

So I suggest you start your hopeless hunt at the mass of highly financed Right Wing media. You have the presumptive burden, ie, the burden to prove otherwise. I don't have time to pursue tasks you consider important to you. That's for you to do. If you were serious you'd have got right on it to begin with. You wouldn't be trying to chase after someone else to do your own tasks for you.

Ok, so a quick look shows even some liberal leaning outlets claiming your source is full of ****.

Congrats on the dishonesty which is ironic considering you're calling someone else dishonest.

President Donald Trump, according to one well-publicized tally, has told 10,000 whoppers during this presidency.

His falsehoods include such incredible claims such as accurately stating the number of new jobs since the election. Or Trump saying he signed executive orders that he did, in fact, sign. Or claiming that Sen. Bernie Sanders, who wants corporate taxes to increase, worker wages to rise, and stock buybacks to end, wants 401(k) values to “dissipate.”

If those don’t sound so fraudulent, that’s because they’re not. The Washington Post’s count of what it calls “false and misleading statements,” and what other media outlets quickly short-handed to “lies” by Trump, is itself inflated.

Lol no u!

Strange, I'm not the one rooting for such a group of domestic terrorist in my signature.

Oh that's right, rules for thee and not for me.

It's only bad when it's not your people doing it.

Fascism is one of the ugliest ideologies of all history. It gained its own vile coherence post 1850 in Europe primarily.

Offering apologia for fascism is not a good place to put one's self. I thought everyone knew that but apparently not.

As I've noted in some of my posts, the installation and imposition of Trump as potus has ignited the armband right to let it all hang out. They've been saying what they really think and pushing what they are determined to do. Some are heavy handed about it while some try absurdly to serve their fascism with tea and crumpets. Neither can succeed in pursuing this grotesque ideology no matter the approach.

I think it's funny that you have to keep calling your own side out like that, but keep trying to pretend like it's a side that I belong to.

You're pretty much inflicting this wound on yourself at this point.

Antifascism is self defense.

So hollow threats.

I see. So anytime a politician says "XYZ is corrupt" or "the enemy," you'll be here denouncing them as inciting violence against XYZ? Sure, sure.

You appear to be putting words in his mouth

There is no threat to the 1st Amendment.

This distinguished and honorable gentleman disagrees with your arbitrary and summary pronouncement from over there on the extreme Right.. He disagrees with you, Trump and all the rowers who are breaking their backs for nothing. Putin too of course. I refer you to my post #76 that includes this post your obviously missed or didn't get. So I present this from it for your convenience.

No one should doubt McRaven speaks for the present chiefs and commanders of the armed forces and for the vast majority of those same who are retired.

The armed forces oath is to the Constitution and not to any official of the government. The armed forces oath is to "we the people" and not any individual in government or out of government. The first law of the first Congress in its first session was the military oath of office, as advocated by George Washington at the Constitutional Convention. Washington saw the armed forces as the last bulwark against the occurrence of a tyrant leader. The Founders agreed.

Retired admiral, commander of bin Laden raid, slams Trump's sentiments on media

Admiral William McRaven was 9th commander of U.S. Special Forces Command who planned and oversaw the bin Laden kill, Operation Neptune Spear.

William McRaven, a retired four-star admiral and former Navy SEAL, defended journalists this week, calling President Donald Trump's denunciation of the media as "the enemy of the American people" the "greatest threat to democracy" he's seen in his lifetime.

That's coming from a man who's seen major threats to democracy.

"We must challenge this statement and this sentiment that the news media is the enemy of the American people," McRaven said, according to the Daily Texan. "This sentiment may be the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime."

"To be a good leader you have to be a good communicator," he added. "As a leader you have to communicate your intent every chance you get and if you fail to do that, you will pay the consequences."

McRaven's remarks come amid Twitter attacks on the media by the president, who's hollered "FAKE NEWS" at several negative stories about his administration. In a widely shared tweet Friday, Trump called the media, naming The New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN, "the enemy of the American People!

Trump is playing with fire on this one in particular.

You are delusional if you believe that's what I'm doing.

Defense of assault noted.

Attacking fascist =/= Defense

Stopping someone who wants you dead or to stomp on your head with their boots is. Then again antifascism involves more than bashing fascists and doesnt require it either. The ignoring of the rising threat of right wing terrorism by the US government has made antifascist action necessary.

Preemptive assault?

Isn't that special.

Under your rules a skinhead who sees anti ANTIFA wimp can thump up on him before any cheap shots are made by the ANTIFA coward.

BRILLIANT!

Waaah waah. It stopped Richard spencer and his nazi goons from extorting colleges And yeah you did by saying a skinhead could just punch an antifa guy.

Please try not to lie about MY position.

Using the skinhead pejorative to reference nazis instead of saying nazis. You goofed. Why use skinhead otherwise? Because you are referring to nazis

Irrelevant.

You are now running away from your call to violence.

By the late 1970s, the mass media, and subsequently the general public, had largely come to view the skinhead subculture as one that promotes racism and neo-Nazism.[citation needed] The white power and neo-Nazi skinhead subculture eventually spread to North America, Europe and other areas of the world.[25] The mainstream media started using the term skinhead in reports of racist violence (regardless of whether the perpetrator was actually a skinhead); this has played a large role in skewing public perceptions about the subculture.[57] Three notable groups that formed in the 1980s and which later became associated with white power skinheads are White Aryan Resistance, Blood and Honour and Hammerskins

You really fail on this one.

I don’t care. Officers are notoriously anti-gun too. He should stick to paddling boats in his pond. Just because the President criticizes the press doesn’t mean the press has been oppressed or there is even the slightest risk to the 1st. Criticism hold no legal weight. And the President doesn’t lose his 1st Amendment rights.

There is not one single threat.

Enemy of the people is a serious charge. Der trumpengroper says this with nothing to back it so they are hollow words as are the minds of his and his supporters.
