Philadelphia Standoff Suspect Maurice Hill 'Should Never Have Been on the Streets,' Philly DA Larry Krasner Says

Philadelphia Standoff Suspect Maurice Hill 'Should Never Have Been on the Streets,' Philly DA Larry Krasner Says - NBC 10 Philadelphia

Hill's criminal record dates back almost two decades and includes convictions on illegal gun possession. He was first arrested as an 18-year-old in 2001 for illegally possessing a gun with an altered serial number, court records show. He was found guilty on five counts related to that arrest.

In 2002 he was arrested yet again and eventually pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy.
Hill would continue to be arrested over the years, with his crimes escalating in severity. In 2008, he was convicted of resisting arrest, criminal trespass and fleeing from police. Three years later, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and most recently was found guilty of perjury, in 2013.

Krasner confirmed that Hill was convicted of federal weapons crimes in 2010 and was under the supervision of federal authorities up to around 2016. Federal court records indicate he was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to four years and seven months in prison, plus three years of supervised release.

However, Hill was not convicted of dozens of other charges, including kidnapping, terroristic threats, illegally possessing guns, possession of controlled substances and simple assault. Other charges, like receiving stolen property and more gun and drug charges, were dismissed through the years.

Why blame the guns and not the criminal. Also, residents were shouting epithets and throwing things at the police. So I can only assume they were unhappy with the police, and therefor happy with the guy shooting cops in their neighborhood? WTF?

This whole thing is light years removed from guns.

Are you upset that career criminals are allowed to roam freely among us? That is a very important factor (reason?) used to demand ever more "gun control" laws thus it must be allowed to continue.

Are you under the impression that the criminal was not arrested and charged?

I haven't read the article but I figure it's safe to assume that he's a white supremacist who was motivated by Trump. Either that or he's apolitical but, scared to death by Trump, chose to take to the parapets to defend the nation from orange tyranny.

Try blaming both. It isn't that hard to do.
Why? There are 120 million gun owners and approx 400 million guns in circulation...and those guns have to date never gone off on their own and committed a violent criminal act.

It is NOT the gun...anymore so than it is the baseball bat.

"The fiancé of missing Colorado mother Kelsey Berreth killed her by wrapping a sweater around her head and bashing her with a baseball bat and later burned her body in a water trough, according to testimony at a preliminary hearing in Cripple Creek, west of Colorado Springs."

Greetings, Lutherf. :2wave:

"What other reason could there be?," she asked?

You're simply in denial. Guns, especially the "assaulty" type, whisper to white supremacists. They are imbued by the manufacturers with a satanic power (the bad kind of satanic, not the good kind) that seeks out white supremacists and causes them to first buy the gun (but only at gun shows where background checks aren't required) then drills into their brain with a "kill, kill, kill" mantra that becomes irresistible. There is also evidence that guns, imbued with this power, turn good people into homicidal maniacs. At first there was supposed to be a government study to prove this allegation but Trump, the GOP and the NRA paid off a mess of congressmen to pass a law preventing such studies.

Huh...here I thought all along that the Philly shooter was black fella.

And he must be part of the elite, because the “citizens laws” don’t apply to him.

People get upset with cops for good reason. Example: An ICE officer attempts homicide against unarmed citizens and police just stood there and watched. And it’s not even news, we don’t have a thread here in it.

If you’re browner than a paper bag, I don’t see why you’d ever trust police.

Career criminals run our government. That's definitely "roaming freely", and more. Guns laws don't do what they are intended to do.

You people do nothing but repeat this idiotic talking point. The fact weapons are so readily available is the problem. All the data showing number of guns and number of gun related deaths show that. Christ almighty, just repeat the same dumb **** over and over

The guns have no ability to shoot themselves.

Laws only do what they are intended to do: allow the "just us" system to carefully select (manage?) who gets locked up (removed from society) and for how long. When you have 200 cells and 1000 convicts with time remaining on their sentences it then becomes a matter of whether to decide which ones should be released, to simply reduce the assigned sentences of all of them and/or to stop assigning jail/prison time.

Why? Did he leave a manifesto with epithets right out of Trump's campaign speeches and drive 150 miles to target Mexicans?

It's a shame the crowds throw stuff at the cops who are doing their jobs. They complain about the cops, they dumb water on then, throw bottles, adn curse them. Why? Because they have been told to do so by democrats like Maxine Waters, she has said be aggressive to politicians so this is just carry over. They need to be sure to get each others numbers because when they need the cops the cops may not want to show up to help. The whole thing does nothing to encourage a working realationship nor for he general public to be sympathetic to their claims of police abuse.

How does "guns don't stalk the streets autonomously murdering civilians" prove this?

The fact that they can't indicate the gun cannot be at fault. Perhaps the shooter? The guy raised on TV and video games that didn't exist decades ago when folks up and down the street had guns but there were no mass shooting....

Ok, and are you under the impression liberals are claiming guns fire themselves?

It's not the video games or the TV. Every country on the planet has ****in video games and TV.
