Actually, a government official was in charge of the prison. That government official is William Barr. The DOJ is in charge of the federal prisons. He's in charge of the DOJ. If he can't handle the job, he should step down.

William Barr is not, and has never been, a corrections officer. For your information, the "official" in charge of the prison was Lamine N’Diaye, and has been reassigned.
You lost me on the SDNY comment. The prison was run by and staffed by officers from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The Federal Bureau of Prisons is a department of the DOJ.[/QUOTE]

"Running circles"? In what way?

Yes, I know the official (not sure why you put it in quotes) was reassigned. What does that have to do with Barr not doing his job?

William Barr is the head of the DOJ. The DOJ was in charge of this prison. If he can't handle the job, then he should leave.

If only william Barr didn't have issues on the border to take care of, so he could just stay at MCC and run it himself. Thankfully, despite his reponsibilities nationwide, his continuing to probe and investigate these conditions, and is updating the public regularly. How typical if someone who is involved in Epstein's murder, to demand an investigation. “We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand a thorough investigation,” AG William Barr to Jeffrey Epstein’s Possible Co-Conspirators: We’re Still Coming for You

The image you captured wasn’t there to represent the written article, it was the thumbnail for the video, which was about “The Rise and Fall of Epstein”. It seems to be a common practice for a lot of online news reports to have a related video link at the top of the article, much like the related links they’ll often have in the middle of the text. It’s all about trying to get us to chick on more than one article (and thus more than one set of adverts).

It’s important to understand how the media words and seeks to play us for their own benefit if you’re going to extract anything meaningful from it all. :cool:

You become AG and tell me how easy it is to multitask everything that goes on nationwide under you. So, I guess that is my point. It's unreasonable to expect anyone could micromanage everything, absolutely.

Hell, just become a project manager, having to multitask for only ~10 people under you, and tell me how easy it is lol

You may not believe it's a murder, but I do. Too many suspicious things with it, and should be investigated as such. Thankfully, Barr understands how suspicious it is, and ordered an investigation.

He heads the DoJ, which has the FBI, ICE, and CBP under him. They recently just got financing to increase security measures, so no doubt he has been busy with that, on top of the mass shootings that have happened the last half-year he's been AG.

Trump seems inclined to pose for a picture with anyone...On a very related topic, politicians need the political campaign contributions of billionaires, for example. I don't think politicians examined the actions of Epstein's personal life when politicians desperately needed and accepted Epstein's donations.

I never became AG. This isn't about me. It's about Barr, and his second stint as AG, and his failure to do his job.

I have 20 people who work for me all over the world. If they are screwing up, it's on me. Unlike Barr, the buck stops with me. Barr blames everyone else.

You think who murdered Epstein?

ICE isn't part of the DOJ. It's under Homeland Security. Different department altogether, and a different leader.

Well, of course, even if Barr went and personally killed Epstein (which of course he didn't), he would be making the 'appalled' talk, and talk about 'investigation into the circumstances'.
 
Didn't we have a thread about Weinstein, and his association with some powerful people. I recall many saying that, having known him, having been seen with him, making nice with him, doesn't necessarily imply guilt. (paraphrased, of course).
We are still sticking to those standards? Innocent until proven guilty?

What I am wondering about is Dershowitz.
