Trump's tweets did have an electoral politics nexus — plenty of working-class people sought by Democrats for votes speak and think this way, and these tweets and the Democrats' outraged responses put them all on record for the voters.

But more important, his measure was aimed at Pelosi herself, forcing her to defend the very people who up until now have been trying to politically kill her. Pelosi prissily called Trump's tweets "xenophobic," and the press dutifully reported that narrative, clutching pearls.

But what we are seeing now is Democrats ganging up in Pelosi and blaming her for the whole Trump tweet string. They're emboldened. They aren't blaming Trump for this; they know Trump. They are using Trump's tweets to intensify their fire on Pelosi. And Trump knows this. It's likely he planned it this way. Just look what's going on among the leftists on Twitter:

In order to understand the electoral chess came played on your behalf, you have to be unemotional and look into the political craft behind the things that go on in front of you. Flying off the handle only obscures the masterful level at which politics is played today. It is truly a psychological game played by opinion makers in the MSM and social media to reach the undecideds and independents.

The committed vote does not count. Flipping out does not count, and crying “You lousy bastard!” counts even less. You are merely a target. And if you hurt yourself banging the table, then you are merely collateral damage.

That's the dumbest calculation ever then.

Bringing a political party together against you isn't very smart, especially when they were fractured before.

While the gang of four and Pelosi might have serious issues with each other, they'll choose each other over Trump any day of the week.

This analysis makes more sense. However the demographics are against this strategy. Not to mention that it is repugnant to most people.

Have y'all forgotten the fire Nancy has weathered from the Squad recently? She just managed to put it to some measure of rest. The fact is, that bunch is a thorn in her side. She doesn't WANT their rhetorical bomb throwing. It interferes with her plan to cause Trump to lose in 2020.

But now...as Axelrod says...she has to defend those women who are socialists, hate Israel and hate the US. No matter who the Dem nominee turns out to be, Trump is going to hammer them with this.

Trump pushes buttons because his base loves his button pushing. It's as simple as that. He's not a rocket scientist. No matter how hard you and American Thinker try to make him seem like one. He makes himself he bright shiny object because he loves attention and to distract from the horror show he's made of the border.

Pelosi has been around the block a few times, and is schooling the upstarts in her own party on the best political strategy.

Trump is tweeting total nonsense, as usual. Who is it he wants to send back to.... where again? With one exception, the only women that he's upset about were born in the USA.

And I really believe that Trump himself is smart enough to know that what he's tweeted is nonsense, but his core supporters will eat it up like it was chocolate, instead of that other brown stuff.
